Corey is more interesting than Myers

Jamie switches up her continuity so much it’s annoying

H1 - More man than evil
H2 - Debatable. Some people have used his robotic movements as evidence that he is becoming less human here.

H4 - Increasingly pure evil
H5 - More human than before; A step back
H6 - Pure evil.

H20 - More human, like the original.
HRes - Increasingly evil

RZH - More human than evil
RZH2 - Even more human than before

H18 - Pure evil
HKills - Yep, evil incarnate.
HEnds - A broken, shattered human.

You make a very good point here. Something deep is a good way to end things, but people just want 78 over and over, which is probably why 2018 was liked so much…

But it’s not clever story telling at all…

Michael vs Laurie for the last 40+ years is not good writing.

At least scream, and Friday the 13th gives us new characters… new final girls, or guys and brings old characters back from time to time.

Michael was a goof, up from h4-ress

In the remake he became brutal and in the 2018 movie he became a good villain at least with killing people and how he acted and moved.

I mean how else would you create a character that goes bad? why do villains become villains? Mostly due to bullying, societal ill treatment of them, and etc. IT always comes down to some kind of bullying, abuse and etc.

There was more to it than that for corey though… he had a very abusive mother, where everything started from, had a kid incident… people turned him into the new boogyman, and he got pushed to the point… where he go tossed of a bridge and nearly died.

What more could you possibly want from the guy?

  1. Mother is abusive.
  2. Accidently kills a awful kid.
  3. The town goes after him even though he’s innocent.
  4. Even marching band nerds pick of him, made him cut himself.
  5. They beat the shit out of him in a group and then tossed him off a bridge.
  6. The mother of the child still blames him and treats him like shit.
  7. Some cop messing with him and his girl and could of lost his life if he hadn’t taken him to michael.

So he’s got a pretty shit life…

Madening enough to turn anyone in a phsycopath.

In the real world people become serial killers for the very same reason… bullying, society that abandons them and treats them like trash… tragedy, abuse. Then they end up shooting schools, and going around murdering people. There are a few sickos out there as well who are just disgusting and love sick shit that deserve to be killed… but alot of them are just people who just maybe wanted a hug, a little warmth and society basically treated them like shit and etc.

There’s been films and such explaining this kind of stuff for years… monsters are mostly made… society loves to create monsters to make themselves seem just and amazing.

I was talking with a friend about how the Halloween 4 mask kinda has this “scared” look similar to young Michael’s face when he comes out of the house after murdering his sister, and it moved into Corey Cunningham discussion. And in Ends, that’s what I like about the character of Corey. He has this Michael Myers transformation about him. At the beginning he’s kind of this dorky quiet kid, and midway through the movie he takes on this “Clown Myers” persona. He’s a young, inexperienced killer who is scared of what he’s done and of what he will do. He even has that same scared expression on his face when he and Allison get confronted by the DJ as Young Michael did in 1978 after killing Judith.

But by the end he’s completely off the deep end.

But by the end he’s completely off the deep end. Looking at these images side by side, I like the juxtaposition of them. When the bullies confront Corey before he finds Michael, he’s scared. When Laurie confronts him after he’s met Michel, he’s no longer scared, but he is angry. You can see it in the change of body language and facial expression. After he makes his connection with Michael, he starts standing up straighter and keeping his arms by his sides when he walks, like Michael does.

Honestly, I think a cooler ending would have been instead of Corey blowing his own brains out, that when Michael shows up, Corey’s body simply disappears and we get that Halloween stinger when it does. Now Corey is the one out there stalking and killing at the end.

I mean people don’t like to think either… alot of the thinking today is rather below second grade level as harsh as that sounds. Everyone is getting participation trophies so everyone now thinks they can right amazing stories. So they shit on things they can’t comprehend and understand… this film requires actual thinking. Like every film it has its issues but it’s such a love letter to michaels overall presence and sadly yeah… people miss that because they want the same old tiring shit.

They purposely ignore the fact michaels was human with supernatural edge, they ignore he doesn’t care about laurie so corey was the only reason he ever went to her house for his mask and then wanted to just kill who ever was there.

Michael was made to be a menace in each film even when weakened. The novel touches details better due to the film getting forced to be under 2 hours.

“enbodiment of evil” = a kid who snapped at his sister who was more focused on dick than she was on taking him out to get candy. A kid who killed for no reason, an adult who kills for no reason… some amazing story writing there.

Not school shooter vibes at all…

This all just sounds like a “I just want michael to be the main focus kind of film.”

Corey was getting detached, he started stalking, hatred was growing in his eyes and how people behaved in these three films are realistic… Just look at all of 2020-2023 all those stupid things that happened that didn’t need and how stupid humans really are but mascarade it as intellegence and justice. Corey is what a real serial killer would be… it was a shame they killed him off but honestly… you can always make him come back.

Im just glad someone gave us something new… im so sick of laurie vs myers… if it were up to entitled fans we would have that for thousands of years.

78 is a joke, you got people scared of some short skinny guy like corey… with a goofy ass white mask… and a pair of green coveralls. Grown adults in the 70’s afraid of some goofy ass myers, with music that isn’t even that great.

2018 gave us a better menacing moving, looking myers, with modernized themes which were great… we also got a copy cat which i really wished for. The trilogy was better than anything in the past… with the goofy ass masks they couldn’t even replicate correctly… and the stupid cheesy actors…

The cult of thorn story could of been great if it wasn’t so stupid… it’s the same bs most 80s killers suffer from…

h2 looks goofy too, and the rest as well.

DGG tried his best to respect the original give us stories based on things other than michael… in each film and gave us some throw backs… I want to think when i see a film… if people find a 78 look scary the problem seems to be the people… lets not forget how the people actied in the trilogy was realistic and as stupid as humanly possible for people of todays and past generations.

I think what you’re saying has merit, and it was definitely cool that DGG tried to bring something fresh while still respecting the original, but calling 1978 a joke is not a good way to get people to agree with you…

It was the band kids and the bowl cut-mullet kid being the bully’s that was the most unrealistic thing for me

Giving it another chance, I didn’t like it at all the first time I seen it, but I think it’s because I had a different idea of how it was going to play out. Thought there was going to be more Michael and Laurie in their final encounter.

This forum can be so toxic sometimes this is wild [emoji88]
