Correct H1 Coveralls Color?

Are these the correct color for H1 coveralls?

This has been debated for so long now, with there still being no definitive answer, that I believe the best thing to do is just watch the scene of michael stalking Tommy in the school yard on Blu ray, and just find the closest color coveralls to that scene that you can. Personally, I feel like they’re a dark charcoal grey color.

It’s definitely not herringbone. Not sure where this myth started but in no way can you see any stripped pattern in the movie.

Most people think they are either Big Mac or Montgomery wards. Depending on the scene and the lighting/color correction they range anywhere from dark blue, to a greenish gray/charcoal.

I think Charcoal looks the best

Olive wood is the color, but they are damn hard to find. Also a non herringbone pattern is accurate. I have a pair of 1950’s bigmacs that are dark green/brown/greyish. Close to olive wood, however, my square flap hangs over just a hair, and they are herringbone, SO, though they are the closest any of us have come probably, they STILL are NOT the ones we see on film. The search continues! Lol

Those look great. The pattern is pretty faint.

Definitive guide thread will help.

it will as far as what details to look for when searching for proper H1’s. But we still don’t have a definitive brand. Personally, I’m using the ones I have, as I think they are fairy close, BUT I really deep down don’t think they are bigmacs.

I’m surprised to still hear people say they were charcoal. I thought it was fairly well established at this point in time that they are a shade of green – olive wood, spruce, etc.

They are a shade of green, but they look dark charcoal, there are plenty of screen caps that show the green coming through. Some lights they look blue, sometimes charcoal, sometimes green, and sometimes a little brownish black shows through. All done by lighting. But the color is well established, at least until THE ones surface, they are olive wood. Which is a greenish/brownish grey.

HALLOWEEN 1 the brand is undetermined…either it was BIG MACS or variation off brand from JC penny’s.

The color was described by Tommy Lee Wallace to my face as a washed down grayish green… most likely a heavily weathered spruce green. That spruce green color white balanced in daylight & at night give off a grayish blue w/ a tint of green. Hence why it’s so questioned. On top of the fact Dean Cundy used many blue hued lights on set.

HALLOWEEN 2 is Sears Roebuck’s in Spruce green 100%

Its just like with the mask… lighting in the film and the overall scene makes them look darker and better. I just think Charcoal takes better pictures if you’re not in a dark situation.

I really think H1 is Montgomery wards and not Big Macs but who knows.

Spruce green yes, but not roebucks… They were Spruce Green Sears “Work and Leisure” Coveralls.

Opinions are like A*holes everyone’s got one  I have owned 3 pairs of Big Macs and a Sears Leisure. Therefore, I have reason to believe this greenish grey Big Macs are the most accurate color from what I’ve seen

Tommy Lee Wallace said they were a ''Smoky Green" in a video I seen on YouTube. I’ll see if I can find later

For me, the only problem with olivewood is that they can look pretty brown-ish under certain lighting, and I don’t see that in any of the pics we have of the movie coveralls.

People argue over the color correction on the blurays/dvds too. I’m not an HD nut so I’m not sure what is what, but I do know people say the 78 color correction is off on the last Bluray release. I’ve seen versions that try to correct it.

Really hard to say.

An official steel photo with unaltered color, unlike the one from the lobby card which shows the coveralls blue.

do you know if there’s any kind of filtering on that one BTS pic of of the closet pic where the coveralls look blue-er?
