Coverall size help

So Ive grown out of my old coveralls and so I looked for a pair of red kap coveralls because they were used in the halloween kills flashback scene. I purchased a pair in the smallest size and when they arrived, they were absolutely massive. Im 5,3 and my waist is tiny, my shoulders are quite broad. Anyone know any coveralls that would fit my size that are similar to the red kaps or are at least close to the workwrites from the DGG trilogy. Thanks.

Did you verify they sent you the right size and are you interpreting the size correctly? I have several pair of Red Kaps are they are the best except for vintage Big Macs or Roebucks. I like buying them on amazon so I can return them for free if there is an issue. They also have navy, charcoal, and spruce green which are all great colors.

Measure your chest just under the armpits with a soft tape measure. I was 38", I wear a size 40R suit jacket/blazer. I ordered a size 42R as I’m 5’11". I previously ordered a 42L (tall) but it was like 6" too long.
Sometimes they do send the wrong size, check the tag on the collar.
You order by your chest size, NOT your waist size unless you have a huge belly. Estimating from your measurements, I would guess a size 36R or 38R would work, I’m not sure how small they go.

Thanks man I refunded it as it was literally the width of my flatscreen TV lol. It mustve been a wrong size. Im only 13 so im assuming they do sizes small enough. On amazon they only go down to 38 which was the size I had picked, maybe theres a teen sizes in the red kaps?

I just looked and the Red Kaps on amazon go down to size 34 in a few colors, that is the smallest size. Amazon.com: Red Kap Men’s Twill Action Back Coverall, Navy, 52: Overalls: Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry Otherwise, amazon also has “youth coveralls” in an unlisted brand but the sizing is different with those.
If you can, you might want to go to a store like Tractor Supply in person and try some on, not many stores carry coveralls anymore.

And as you need a bigger size, you’ll know the sizes and details better.

I’d be surprised if a 34 on amazon wouldn’t fit- if you go through the reviews/pictures from customers, there are some younger people/teens/kids that wear those Red Kaps and they seem to fit.

So i tried on some coveralls in a local farming shop and found my size was a small in adult. The coveralls i tried on fit me perfectly however, I was told that they were from size 36-44 which is exactly what i ordered from amazon. Now im from Ireland so i understand that the coveralls i ordered wouldve been in US sizes but i dont really know if that wouldve affected the size of them that much. I tried looking up how to convert the EU to US sizes on google but i didnt get any answers. Im thinking that they had sent the wromg size but im not sure. Ive refunded them and got my money back thankfully. Im going to order them again in the next week, anything i should know before i order them again?
Thanks so much man.

Connor is pretty good about sizing folks up. The man makes coveralls for a living. See if he can throw you some pointers. @creepycustoms

The above poster mentioned Creepy Customs coveralls, and while they are great, I wouldn’t spend that much since you’re likely to grow quite a bit still.

But yeah, 56R is gigantic! I’m definitely as big as I’m going to get, 5’11" and thin build, and a 42 usually fits me pretty well, but coverall sizes vary a lot by brand. I have some vintage Roebucks that are 46T, but vintage Roebucks run small and short. They also probably shrunk over the years.

Glad to hear you found some!

Also, I don’t know if sizes are different in Ireland, but the sizes in the US and the ones Red Kap uses are the chest circumference measurement in inches- so if you lay the item flat and measure across the chest just under the armpits, it should be half that number.

So a size 40 means that if you took a tape measure and went all the way around your chest just under your armpits, it should be a little less than 40" since you don’t want anything skin tight.

Go to your local Army and Navy store to try on a pair to get what fits you comfortably, they should carry most sizes, brands and colors; they should be reasonably priced. Army and Navy stores usually also have great selections on boots as well. Support Local!
