Hi all. Does anyone know the size of coveralls used in the Halloween franchise films? I know the make of them but never knew the actual sizing of them. thanks in advance.
I mean I suppose it just depends on the individual who’s playing the Shape. You have anything from Dick Warlock with his very slim and short legged coveralls to Tyle Mane and those heavily weathered Carhartt’s. It just depends on what brand and size you need, since you’ll be the one wearing them.
Yeah that’s true but I’m just interested in the actual coveralls used. Size wise I mean. For example someone message me and said Tyler mane used 54 long for his role.
Yeah me too. Very interesting insight. I hear JJC had 48 L in H40. But then another person stated 46L. Interesting to know this as a fan of the franchise.

Being Nick Castle was lanky and 5’ 11", just around my size, I wear a 38r. A 40r is about the same size as well.

I know that at being roughly 6’1, about 170 pounds and with a 38.5 inch chest, a size 40r in Red Kaps fits perfect through the chest and arms, but ends up being too short through the legs and torso. If you’re 6 foot or above, I’d recommend the long length. Unfortunately it seems that for certain brands, once you get get below certain chest sizes they stop offering them in long length. (for example, Red Kap only starts offering the spruce coveralls in long length once you get to size 42)
Nick castle was 145lbs at the time and 5,10 so I’m assuming he was a 42 r or 44 r bc I’m the same size as him except I’m 157lbs and I tried a 44r coveralls and they fit too baggy for my liking where as a 42r I think would fit better.
Heres the screenused pair SDcostume guy was sent from production 46 long.
This photo also dispels the myth that the coveralls were soaked in blue dye, those tags are pristine white
There are important differences between coveralls brand and between references from a same brand, too…
The smallest I ever own were Big Mac olivewood, size 38R. I’m 5’6 and 165 lbs, and last Halloween (while I was about 18 pounds heavier), they were just fine : not too short at all, and not too snug.
The first Sears (Perma-Prest) I bought about five months ago were 40R, and they are pretty much the same size than my former 38R BM.
On August, I bought a pair of Tradewears 40S : they should be perfect, because normally size S are for people up to 5’7, but they are a tad snug and short on the ankles (maybe even more than DW on H2).
Now, my last acquisitions are Sears Work’n’Leisure, 42T with hemmed legs, and if they are a bit roomy, they do look more like the ones Castle wore, with a baggy look, but not too exaggerated.
I’m 5’10" and 155 pounds. Will Sears Roebucks 40T be too long for me? I figure the legs will be OK and will give a baggy look but I’m not sure if the sleeves will be too long.
In regular pants my inseam is about 31". Regular coveralls usually have a 28 - 29" inseam since they hang down a bit. I’m more concerned about the arms.
I have a pair of Montgomery Wards in 40R. They fit OK but could be a bit larger for a baggier look like Castle wore. I’m sure a 42R will be good but will a 44R be too big and baggy? Do Sears coveralls run true to size or small? I thought I read somewhere they run small.
You are asking questions that only you can find by trial and error. Coveralls are all over the map in sizes. Take two pair of different brands in 44R one could fit perfect the other pair could be long in the legs and baggy.
