Coverall Sizing

Hey all. I have a pair of Red Kap Twill coveralls that are a size 38, which is around what my chest measures. They are incredibly snug and barely wearable because my range of motion in them is even restricted. I don’t even think a 40 would be that much better, so I’m thinking of ordering a 42 next time I have the chance. However, I stumbled upon a site offering the charcoal grey Workrite coveralls from the new film, and was wondering if anyone knows how those run in size. Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah it’s a problem with some coveralls. I’m a 42 chest and always order 46 or 48. My red cap are 46 my xo1 are 48 and my workrites are 46 all in tall which is good for my height (6-3)

Got photos of how they look?

I always look at what size t shirt I wear (Large) and go for the upper end of what is in that shirt range, so like 44 is what I will get. For coveralls or, say, jackets/sports coats… doing this will give you a fit that isn’t too huge on you but not too snug as well. Works for me.

I have for example a pair of Sears W&L in a 44L… and they fit great but I may have to take the inseam in a bit to get a more H2-like look.

I can try to get one this weekend but frankly they are a pain to even get on. Haha

38 is tiny, I got a 48 which fits ok in my shoulders, snug on my belly and chest, damn large in my legs, a 46 might’ve fit me better but I have broad shoulders so it’s eaither me that I have an unbalanced body or coveralls are not balanced at all, I’m a little over 6’ with boots on.

I read from an unofficial source that Nick Castle wore a size 40, can you guys confirm that?

I found that workrite run a little on the small side, I usually wear a 38 but the workrite I found in 44r cheap and they fit how a 38 should, they only seem small or snug in the elastic waistband. I have lost of room in the back/shoulders etc

But the 44r fits pretty good, i think for me a 42 would be a little small

I was assuming a 42 would fit well. Now I’m
Not sure. I didn’t think I’d have to go 3 sizes up. I guess I’m closer to a 40 in terms of shoulders. Mine are broader. I don’t want the coveralls to look huge. I’m looking for a decent compromise.

The coveralls dont run small only the elastic waistband runs small/tight. So your tummy will be normal 38 coverall size, but w/ the elastic a 38 feels like you bought a 34-36 in the waist area.

Its weird im a bone rack and Ive got a pair of Sears coveralls that are 38R and Im swimming in them, it took some hemming on some of the 38-40R I buy. But these Workrites feel snug in the waistband. If that makes sense for Workrites fit

Heres a before dying pic of my coveralls, these are 44 reg. Im 5’7 and pretty boney so you can see the coveralls look baggy in the armpit So I would say depending on your height but I would say 42 is plenty. i didnt realise how much baggy mine looks until i saw the pics. The pics kinda show the fit of Workrites, the waistband fits and has some room but the back and armpit looks baggy

Id say go with a 42 to play it safe if youre closer fit to 40 you can always take them in a bit. Depending on how tall you are maybe they wont look baggy if your taller than me you might only need a 40

I’m about 5’10 (5’11 with boots on) and 160 lbs. I wear 38 usually but I’m going by suits and sport coat sizing. I have a broader shoulder. I’m currently a 33.5 waist. I’m thinking a 42 would be a decent fit. I don’t want them to look too baggy.

Thank you for your reply brother!
