Coverall weathering???

Hey Guys,

I am weathering a pair of RZ style coveralls. What is the best way to get the grease stains on there. I have heard everything from charcoal to watered down black paint. I had one guy tell me he hung his over an open camp fire!! I know some of you do weathering all the time so I figured I might ask some of the experts… I know I will atleast get some sane responses from here!!

There is a reason why there is a search button but since your new to the boards… I used RIT dye on them and you cut out the lining. Also if you are wondering I believe the coveralls are Carhartt X02’s with the flap pockets for RZ h1 and X01’s for RZ H2.

First of all thank you for the advice Mick. Second thing is I do apologize if I did something wrong by making this post. I am new to the boards and this is my first try on weathering something so I really wanted to try and get it right the first time considering cartharts are not that cheap to come by. While using the ummm search button I came across a few things and was only wanting to know the best route to go. I also remember seeing a few post saying that while RIT dye is great it might not be a good idea to use it unless you have used it before. I had already removed the lining and done some weathering to them In which I learned how to do by using the search button on here. The only thing I was unclear for sure about was the grease spots. I know you was trying to make a point and I am also aware that I am coming across as a jerk right now but my point is I might be new to the boards but that does not make me a complete fool… Again thanks for your advice on the coveralls!

Use used Motor oil for the grease spots.

i just used fabric paint on mine, i think they turned out alright
