Crazy theory on why Michael's mask was different in H5

Im confused

Good one Kaizu i was thinking the same thing.

I used to think the mask could’ve been warped when Michael was floating down the river, but that doesn’t make sense when you think about the character at the party later on that wears a Myers mask. It looks the same as Michael’s mask. Are we to assume his mask got warped too? And in the exact same way? The director just wanted a different mask and also wanted the Myers house to look like a gothic mansion because he didn’t care at all about continuity in the series.

All of these theories sound like a reeeach… but A+ for creativity. I don’t really think there’s any way to justify or explain that awful continuity error, not to mention how his facial burns have completely healed and all his hair is back. H4 is about as far as I can personally stomach the series.

I agree there’s not any way to justify some of the horrible continuity, but definitely fun to imagine!

Totally agree, but I can still handle H5, as bad as it is  most likely because I grew up watching it every Halloween.

I love H5

I wonder if the Cult of Thorn just mass produces White Masks in Haddonfield so Mikey never gets insecure.

In my head cannon I like to think that when Michael gets shot down the mine shaft at the end of H4 it causes the mask to change into what we see in H5… let me explain. While falling down the shaft the mask gets a little dirty adding the H5 weathering and causes the masks neck to flare out over the coveralls collar. The fall possibly causing some of the hair to loosen or fall out on the way down, it is a cheap store bought mask after all. When they throw the stick of dynamite down the shaft the heat and the force from the blast radius singes the hairline pushing it back like the H5 mask while also causing the latex to heat up to a degree and morph the features like the nose and lips and eye cuts and causes the glue on the eyebrows to loosen up. Thin cheap masks tend to do that especially if thrown down a mine shaft while being worn multiple things could have gotten caught or stretched the mask on his way down too causing more alterations. Once he crawls to the river the water rapidly cools the heated latex causing the morphed features to be permanent while also causing the glue on the eyebrows to further sag down creating the angry brow look. The hair is all messed up and not matted down due to the water as well. Ya have to do a few mental gymnastics but its all possible to a degree. It works for me to keep the continuity more seamless

Another character wears a H5 mask that is store bought remember. In the H5 universe Myers always looked this way, it only changes for the viewer of the film, not in universe. Like James Bond.

Any theory goes in the trash once we see the other side character wearing the exact same mask Michael has on. Between the Myers house and those clown cops this movie ranks pretty low with me.

This is exactly how I see it. The mask is just how it is and always has been in the H5 universe, because of the artistic view of the director.

I watched H5 again recently and actually enjoyed it. Yes, it has a few questionable points and some odd plot decisions (Rachel rip), but it is quite compellingly made and introduces strange and interesting themes. Certainly one of the more curious and provocative sequels. I have a lot of time for it.

And right after he fell down the mine shaft and had TnT dropped on him, he thought to himself ā€œnow’s as a good a time as any to pop this new mask on before I go for a float down the lazy river. I’ll do it so quick the cine cameras won’t even catch me.ā€

If you are familiar with the Halloween movie novel or even the comic book series it shows Michael Myers stole several ā€œshapeā€ masks from the Nichols hardware store including rope, knives etc.
