The fact she treated Danielle like that makes me feel some sort of way. I’ve met Danielle a few times and she is a great human being. Sure maybe JLC didn’t see H4 or maybe she was just busy and tired, but JLC has mentioned those movies in the past and acknowledged that it was “her daughter” in some of the sequels. So that’s kinda messed up that she would do that.
JLC consider ps herself, not entirely wrongly, to be above Halloween. H1 is a Cinema Classic, while H4 and RZH1 simply are not. She’s very conceited, but not wholly wrong about it.
I’ve personally seen both Danielle and Scout act like snobby divas at conventions, so this doesn’t sadden me in the least. Whether Jamie Lee truly didn’t recognize them or was being a jerk, I find it amusing.
JLC has never really given a shit about anything that she wasn’t a part of. So I’m not surprised that she didn’t know who they were. The photo of the three of them together is cringey as hell; Curtis obviously looks uncomfortable in the photo and doesn’t want to be there.
I should clarify that the times I met Danielle was before she started doing the conventions with Scout. So if that’s how she is now running around with her, then that’s a shame.
Ive heard JLC say on multiple occasions she doesnt like scary. She doesnt watch horror. So who knows. Either way I couldnt care less what a bunch people who are alot richer than me are doing
The times I’ve seen them behave poorly shouldn’t take away anything from your positive experience. In fact, the times I’ve directly interacted with them both, they were perfectly pleasant. Their negative behavior were separate occasions, maybe 7-10 years ago.
It was Scout’s arrogant attitude towards a vendor and Danielle’s bratty frustration with a show runner that I’m referring to. Just as they said in their quote, we all have bad days. But to me, this seems like they’re attempting to stay relevant or call attention to their podcast by taking what was, likely, a misunderstanding and blowing it out of proportion.
I listened to the podcast yesterday and I have to say I felt really sorry for them. I saw the picture they got way before listening to the podcast and even then I could see that JLC looked uncomfortable. If she was indeed as ignorant as described, not only would I be not surprised, but double shame on her for not even having the courtesy to acknowledge their work, even if she hasn’t seen it. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice.
I can’t say anything about DH and STC at conventions, I’ve never been to a con where they’ve been in attendance.
I’ve met Danielle at the conventions and she was very nice. I’d be kind of afraid to meet Jamie Lee Curtis tho. She’s about my mom’s age and seems like a scary woman from that era. Like an angry teacher or something…a complete contrast from her costar Nancy Loomis who I met recently and was very sweet…and is now a teacher btw haha.
In regard to this recent trilogy I kind of hate that the emphasis seemed to be on Laurie rather than the Shape. And that Kyle Richards was not onscreen for very long in Ends.
It’s rather comical if you listen to the H20 commentary with the director and JLC. First the director mentions that “those other movies weren’t any good” (referring to H4-H6) and JLC is in total agreement with him (Something along the lines of: “Scoffs Yeah, that’s true. That’s very true.”) and then a minute later he mentions that he hasn’t seen them and she’s like “Oh me either. Never.”
How tf do you know if they’re any good or not if you haven’t ever seen them? And why would you comment so matter of factly like you have, when you in fact haven’t?! It just totally turned me off to her the way she was acting. All holier than thou. Ha! H20 may be the best portrayal of Laurie Strode but the movie as a whole is vastly inferior to the Thorn Trilogy. Even H5, which is an odd, shoddy, side step to the others, is still somehow less meh than H20 is. IMO anyway.
