Darren Hughes Kirk Observation!

I was compiling images of Darren’s kirk mask and I spotted something that I felt I just had to share! I saw the bumps on the proper left cheek of Darrens mask that instantly looked familiar. The H1 Stunt SY/Reveal mask has the same bumps! It’s small I know, but I wanted to share it with you guys.

AWESOME observation! :myers:

Thank you! Forgot to mention this third bump is visible.

This is amazing!

I was just about ready to comment on the 3rd bump, but I was beaten to it…

Right!? Best part is it’s not on the other kirks we know of. So we know it’s mold specific.

So if Darrens is the Stunt mask mold, Sheriff Brackett’s the hero mold, what will be the 3rd mask?

Actually I’ve been discussing that recently. I can’t find anything indicating that Josh’s old Kirk is the same mold as the hero. The lip bump on Josh’s is not there on the hero and that’s the only thing that’s ever tied the two together that I know of?

I think it was mostly how it looked when it had the Castle type stretch when he wore it

Yeah, unfortunately that’s not enough for me to think they’re the same anymore. Although it is most definitely close (as a lot of those old kirks are) I just don’t see anyway the two could be linked unless there’s other mold evidence supporting it. A specific bump, a match in some other regard, etc.

When I do another vintage Kirk sculpt I’m gonna add these bumps

Awesome!

Great thread!! I miss these kinds of posts on here!!

What do you think about Sean Clark’s 75 Kirk mask being from the same mold as the hero?

Extremely hard to tell if it is or not. There are no discernible marks or flaws on it that match up to the hero that aren’t on every Kirk mask.

I was trying to find a picture of Sean’s Kirk from the side, but I wasn’t having any luck anyways because I saw on a video that it has 3 of the same latex bumps the hero does on the side of its face.

Now I know that doesn’t mean it’s from the same mold, and I’m not sure if this is something all the Kirk’s had on them?

It is, as is the seam line. It’s also on all the 98 Proto castings.
It certainly could be the same mold, I’ve just not seen something on it that isn’t on the others that would set it apart if that makes sense?
