I got asked why I sold almost every “Myers” mask in my collection…this would be why. This was converted over from a ‘Kirk’ to a ‘Myers’ by AHG (GOD in my opinion for those authentic conversions) and this mask pretty much sums up what I think “Myers” should look like. I have to go back to what Dennis Beckstrom said, “In order to have a ‘Myers’, you must first have a ‘Kirk’. Looking at these pics, I easily see both. Perfect sized mask authentic to the size of the original 1975 DPS Capt. Kirk and fits pretty much like the original mask on Nick Castle or Dick Warlock. One thing that Dick Warlock say’s about the original 1975 mask was the ‘Big Honk’n Nose’…well, it’s pretty much right there as well. Costume pics will have to wait until Halloween, I only play dress-up once a year.
Some outside shots; no photoshop or anything tricky; just daylight and the mask. This was taken in my side yard, mind the scratchy old fence and the Squirrel Feeder; I take care of about 13 Squirrels, 3 Raccoons’ and 1 Possum; they love scratch’n things up. I gotta get my landlord to paint the fence this upcoming summer.
The reason for the slight difference in appearences is because, Sam has to rework the eye cuts upon recieveing them fron Darren, in order for the mask to have the proper shape of the KIRK eyes. The eyes seem to droop somewhat when Darren takes them out of the mold. Maybe if Sam reads this, he can answer it better then I can. I just know that he had told me that on all the blanks he recieved from Darren, he had to rework the shape of the eyes.
That has got to be one of my favorite conversions. Captures “the look” that everyone is trying to get when altering a kirk mask.

Could it be that it does look different that most newer 99 conversions because the eyes are more adjusted to center? It makes a huge difference on these masks.
No difference at all since they my 99s and Billys came directly from Darren. It just depends on finishing, stuffing and photography. Also I don’t “adjust” the eyes…not sure what that means.
BTW…I’m discontinuing these very soon.
I was just sayin that the 99 DP Kirk’s eyes look a bit wide in general and that it looks like Mike (AHG) cut the eyes a bit more inward towards the nose to compensate. Not to diminish the quality of these masks at all. They are absolutely top notch as far as I’m concerned. And I think everyone is greatful to you and Darren for making these available to us once again. I’ll certainly be picking one up before you discontinue.
That’s a great looking mask…has such a vintage, authentic vibe to it. I wonder if Dick has seen any of these 99 conversions and what his thoughts about them were.
