I’ve been wanting the steelbook of Halloween kills but we have assholes in this world who wanna buy the whole damn stock and resell it for 100 bucks. I know I’m not the only one. So scalpers, please fuck off it ain’t a PS5 lmao it’s a dvd, your pathetic.
It’s been a problem forever and it’s only getting worse in every community. And it’s bookended by an entitlement society that thinks they are owed everything on a silver platter, so they want to pay less for something and lowball sellers who are asking fair prices. I finally scored the new Lego Titanic for my collection and it took 2 months to find one that wasn’t being sold for double the retail price.
Sorry, but that’s not going to happen with secondary prices for steelbooks. They stay pretty high. Your best best is going to be a restock on Best Buy or a rerelease.
That first steelbook is a rerelease, not the original one that came out. And the second one there, the Scream Factory version, was a standard release that isn’t a steelbook.
I originally said “Your best best is going to be a restock on Best Buy or a rerelease.”
You replied that the 2018 steelbook is $30 on Amazon.
I linked the original release of the 2018 steelbook for $99 on Amazon and asked you to post a link to what you’re referring to.
You show a picture of your purchase of a rerelease of the 2018 steelbook for $30.
I stand by my original statement. His best bet is going to be a restock on Best Buy or a rerelease. The secondary market prices for the original release of the Kills steelbook is not going to magically go down to $34.99 in the next few months as you initially suggested.
Look at the Who Framed Roger Rabbit 4K Steelbook released a few months ago. Sold out instantly like Halloween Kills, and it’s still selling for $75 to $110 on the secondary market.
I was able to preorder and buy one. the steelie is worth what people will pay for it, which right now is 79 bucks, which is about the original cost of two copies, not exactly egregious for a limited release. if I were to sell it why would i ask the original price I paid when tons of people would be willing to give me more than double? most of the people on ebay and similar sites are like me and not scalping, we are just taking advantage of the market, and this is how we make a living. im not an apologist for scalpers necessarily, but there is some not so subtle irony posting this on a website where we buy masks and sell masks at unbelievable markups.
