Has anyone bought one of Dela Torre’s 80% complete masks? I’ve been wanting to get a white satin for the longest time, I’m just nervous about ordering from him. Figured it would be faster if he’s not doing all the work on it. Let me know, thanks!
It’s really up to you man but seems like a gamble unless you wanna wait a bit. Honestly,I’d just wait to see what TOTS is coming out with.from what I’ve seen they are getting Wayne toth to help them make the RZ masks for their next catalog and knowing that they’ll probably get the original molds to use. But it’s up to you! I know some people want the Indy masks ,they are better quality.but if you wait you may get a better molded mask to get rehauled by a pro artist that will look just as good. Just my insight! Good luck

Yeah I heard tots were doing them. I just don’t know if there doing RZ H2? Maybe I will wait to see what they release. Thanks for your input, appreciate it!
No problem! I heard they announced them at maskfest ,they will probably show up in their next catalog ,they usually release it awhile before Halloween.and I would bet that’s rzh2 is a yes,if there doing the first movie I’m sure they’ll do them all
Wait wait wait. WHAT??? ToTs are already doing RZ masks?? I figured they do it somewhere down the line, but when and where did you find this out??
Somewhere on Instagram ,tots page and or maskfest.cant remember exactly but they are doing them.
They announced it at mask fest. They’re using the original molds supposedly, but they say that about a lot of their items now even if they are working with the original FX people. So while I suppose it’s possible, I’ll have to see it to believe it.
For now I’ll stick with the Indy movie mold replica options!

Well their H40 mask is from screen used molds aswell as their Chucky’s and so forth the only time they lied well actually it was more of a mistake and was quickly fixed was the nameless ghoul mask most the time is just dumbass not knowing what their talking about I remember when everyone was saying the h40 was a retool or a completely different sculpt and that Justin Mabry had nothing too do with the h40 Myers mask and that he payed his way into the credits lmoa so what im saying is dont worry if tots says they are using screen used molds I doubt they would make that up especially when theyve been trying to get the licence and a hold of those screen used molds since 2014 which alot of people dont know
They also claimed their TCM 2003 mask was from the original molds when it was in fact a new sculpture by Scott Stoddard.
These are also the people who claimed, and still do claim, that the H40 mask advertised was a production mask right off the line, which was absolutely false.
I haven’t seen any confirmation outside of mask fest, and they have announced licenses prematurely in the past before… All this to say, until we see the actual masks, it’s better not to assume or believe any claims.
As for the original post, DT is a gamble man. Every blank and finished mask I’ve seen from him in the past few months have been completely washed out. Supposedly he just reworked his Buried masks and made new molds but to be honest his Gen 4 looks like a worse version than the 2015 Buried.
Your best bet would be waiting to see what actually gets sent out and what the quality is of those pieces, or buying from Russell.
The Chucky is most definitely not from the screen-used mold, if it is it has been heavily retooled to the point where its lineage isn’t relevant to the product. The Glen could be but is questionable because of its closed mouth (to my knowledge they did not sculpt a close-mouthed smiling glen, only the open mouth version). The Tiffany, I don’t know. It looks like it could be the only one that is movie mold, but its hard to tell. The only thing off looks to be the mouth.
And has 1962 said above, they are dishonest in regards to their '03 mask as well.
As far as people saying the H40 they put out isn’t movie mold and is somehow a resculpted mask- they are crazy as it is OBVIOUSLY not the case. That piece is movie mold through and through.
