deluxe 75k shiny to dull

hi just wondering if anybody had any insight on how to dull up my Deluxe 75K mask
as you can see this magnificent creation is a bit too shiny for my taste and would like to know if there are any techniques on dulling it up a bit
although i did not ask for it to be this shiny it is still the pride and joy of my kirk collection,
i have seen all others and they don’t seem to be this shiny …any advise?

Wow, that one is a little glossy. I’ve seen a few like that. If you don’t want to apply a matte sealant over the top w/ an airbrush, you could just put a little talcum powder on him and wipe off.
That will dull it down a little to reduce the shine.

:open_mouth: someone went gloss happy!

I would be putting up a major bitch fest about this … Thats too much!

createx matte top coat.

in all fairness Nik is the best at what he does among others, but yeah i do think a little too much gloss was put on by him,
i will do with what i have and at this point i just want to rectify this in a way that will not ruin the mask.

don’t worry, nik your still tops in my book by far.!!!

i’d try to exchange it. a 75 kirk shouldnt have any sheen.

That looks terrible. I think you should ask for a replacement.

I agree 100%. Nik should make you another copy.

Agreed. I see no reason why he shouldn’t.

mask looks cheap. nik needs to fix it

I think Bridge owns the proto that is also just as shiny.
But those are the only two I’ve seen w/ the gloss finishing.

How does the mask look in pics w/out the flash on?

believe it or not --the flash was not used , i took this pic on my kitchen table where the best natural light comes in through the bay windows and glass doors ,
i specifically took the pics there so that the the sun was coming through the doors at the right time of day when the sun is the strongest, so that i would not use the flash.
i know the whole deal with using the flash for taking pics of masks etc, that is why i did this.

one thing i forgot to mention earlier is the fact that i did not just get this, i have had it since last June in a glass display case but the glossiness has always bothered me and i never said anything, but lately i have been seeing everyone post their 75 k kirk masks and i never saw another wiith the same glossy finish. and i agree that it looks magnificent without the gloss.

like i said earlier, i am and always will be a fan of Nik’s work this thread i hope in no way offends anybody i just wanted advice on how to fix this situation with the gloss,
and at the time of this post i am in talks with Nik through emails to see what can be done.
and i thank everyone on their insights.
