Devil's Rain Shatner Influence On The White Mask?

I always wondered if Shatner’s eyeless look from The Devil’s Rain ever influenced the look of the white mask. Any one else ever wonder about this?

I think it may be more coincidence than anything else. Tommy Lee Wallace was looking for a mask with a blank expression and thought the Shatner mask was the closest one to what they wanted for the film. It’s possible that they were thinking about it subconsciously, but I don’t think The Devil’s Rain was a direct influence.

I think I would say so too, most especially because the Shatner mask wasn’t his first choice anyways. But that’s pretty coincidental though.

Just my opinion though,

The Devils rain pic reminds me of how the 75 kirks looked unconverted…i wonder if anyone at DP had seen that movie before they made the Kirk

Your pic is of John Travolta in the film

Here’s the Shat in the film:

I was too lazy to throw the disc on and get a screencap.

The Devil’s Rain did come out a couple of years before Halloween, so I think it’s entirely possible that someone on the white mask team would have remembered the “eyeless” Shat look and thought to try it out on one of the DP Kirks.

Uncut Kirk eyes always creep me out, they just look so mutilated.
