Ya know, I know this has been brought up in the past but it still amazes me.
I just snagged an old school Rubies. The first mask I ever had. I remember thinking this mask was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Anyhow, I remember when I was a kid, getting this mask and absolutely freaking out. I also remember seeing the mask with hair and thought, there it is, the mask from the movie!!
My point is, I never thought, while growing up, we would ever see it this far.
Artists like Justin, Nik, Terry, Sam, Dennis, Mike AHG, Bry, JC, Mayney, Tommy, and so on (including Kirk Magnum, for bringing the kirk to the fans, ) that have brought the real deal to life!!
!
THANKS TO ALL THE AMAZING ARTISTS, THAT HAVE BROUGHT THE REAL MYERS (HALLOWEEN), TO THE FANS AND MYSELF!!!
See Ya!

I knowā¦I had no idea this hobby even existed until early this year. I remember buying one of those masks with painted-on hair last year and thinking it was great. It wasnāt until I came across the Silver Shampain Novelties site that I discovered the talent thatās out there.
Totally agreed, J.
I thought that the 86 Don Post The Mask was the be all end all For YEARS.
Although my first Myers mask in '89 was some crappy face mask called āHalloween 5ā that I bought at a local paper store:
Man was that thing a piece of crap!
Then, my buddy sold me his '86 The Mask in 1990!
(Me in '93 with my first '86)
(My Second '86 in '96)
Now, i canāt believe that I own something that I consider to be SOO movie accurate, itās sick!
It has come a VERRRY long way, and was totally worth the wait!
Cheers!
Yeah ever since I was a little obssessed myers kid i knew what all the myers masks and his outfits looked like and I never knew where to find anything that was movie accurate.I found MM.NET and then found SSN and ive been collecting ever since. Its just so amazing that weve come this far and im damn happy about it
same here except one year ahead, and my first mask had hair.
itās truly astounding looking back at what , just a year or two ago, i thought was a decent Myers mask. now i wouldnāt be caught dead one.
gobears, which mask is that in the foreground?
Its crazy, isnāt it?
I mean, how awesome is it. When you sit down and really think about it!
I just wish these masks were around when I was growing up, Iād be in heaven!!
Hey Samhain Spirit, thats my Nag/Hallows H-78 Deluxe.
See Ya!

I must be the minority. Iāve always been obsessed with Myers, that we all share in commonā¦however, I never bought a mask until last year with my FEAR.
I kept looking at them and thinking āThis is it? This is the best they can do?ā. I remember seeing all these kids run around for years with the same DPs and not understanding why everyone was so impressed by them. Maybe itās because I was working in a haunted house where there was an actual sculptor/artist so I saw what masks could be. I almost bought a deluxe dp something or other (I think it was an '03 retrospectively) but couldnāt bring myself to do it. I stuck with non-myers masks from Death Studios and the like (Jeff from DS is like our JCā¦just as stand up as can be, even to a little kid).
Now I put on my jumpsuit, boots, black t-shirt and place my FEAR on my head and I kinda hope some little Myers obsessed kid will see it and ask about it so I can pass along the gift.
This hobby has made an astonishing journey which is still going on! Every day reveals new treasures, fans, collectors and artists with PASSION for it, I love that!
i find myself saying that about a lot of stuff lately. i wander into the toy dept of walmart, or see all these t-shirts with Batman, Superman, and Flash logos on the front and i think, āWhere the heck was all this stuff when I was a kid? i was just born too early.ā
on the other hand, if all these masks had been around when you were a kid, itād have been more torture than bliss. āMy Spoiled-Rotten Sweet 16ā aside, what kid can buy, or bully his parents into buying, a $150+ halloween mask when $30 DPs are out there?
Hey Samhain Spirit, thats my Nag/Hallows H-78 Deluxe.
See Ya!

i really MUST win the lottery one of these days. all these awesome masks and all out of my range.
i love my Samhain, but some of these H1s are just ā¦just⦠outside the boundaries of what language can do justice.
This is an awesome hobby that those a**holes at trancas are trying to ruin.
Even though Iāve only been in this 3 years Iām still amazed at what we have at our feet now. I mean, when I first joined this site 3 years ago, the best thing we had were NM78ās and Psychos and that was it! Now we have so many options (and many talented artists) to choose from. I can only imagine what the next 3 years will bring.
if all these companies making āChalk faceā masks and the like can survive, iām sure this hobby and itās mask makers can find a way through the Dark Times.
hereās hoping i didnāt just jinx the whole thing.
Great post J.
This hobby has really helped me get through some tough times in the past two years by occupying my mind when things got rough.
Thanks man,
I agree, this board is the home away from home.
Iām glad the hobby got you thru some rough times.
Some people make bad decisions in life, and turn to the wrong thing.
This is definately a good place to turn to, and a fun/intersting hobby, as well!!

Itās so true. The hobby has morphed into something great with so many amazing examples of Myers masks from every Halloween movie that has come out. Just that feeling of seeing a box on your doorstep with your latest score, be it a mask or a Lamson that JC did up, or any piece of Halloween film lore, is worth it!!!
I love this site so much because I can come here and by myself. I donāt have to be fake around you guys.
And yes this hobby has come extremely far! When I first got into the hobby, the Warlock was the mask to have. It was the most praised mask in the hobby at the time. Honestly I didnāt ever think it would get better than that⦠And then all the great artists on this site stepped up to the plate and proved me dead wrong. This place just keeps getting better and better. This site is definitely my home away from home. Thank you Derek, for making all of this possible for us!
Take care,
Frankie
No doubt Jason, it is amazing what has been put out over the passed few years. The H78s, Nightmares, DB2s, KHs, Mint75s, early run NM78s, Nikās new Kirk, etc etc. Itās no longer āCANā I get a great Myers mask it is āWHICH ONEā!!??
Never. I am so thankful for this site, and all the amazing artists, and people involved!! Without this site, I would not know what I do now, about Halloween, and Michael Myers, and I would definitley not own the SICK and AMAZING masks that I do
as i explained in my letter to Trancas ( um different topic) i was 29 years old before my childhood dream became a reality.
i never thought i would own such an amazingly screen accurate Myers mask not to mention multiple amazing Myers masks!!
yeah J, it is crazy and i think im just gonna go stair at my masks for awhile
Michael Myers is way biggier than Jason and Freddy combined. There are more loyal fans of Myers than the other two, so, yeah, I am not at all surprised of how far itās come.
