Differences between the NAG 75k variations?

Hello all, I apologize if this has been asked before but I keep hearing of so many different 75k variations that I didn’t even know existed  Some I’ve heard of are the 75k supreme, 75k castle, 75k CSE, and I’m sure there are others as well. My question is, what are the differences between these variations of the 75k? Also, is there a definitive variation that’s better than the rest? Thank you

75k is a regular Kirk, 75k Castle is a regular 75k with more of a stretch to it to give it an H1 look. And the CSE just stands for Castle Stretch Edition

Thank you! Is there really much difference between the 75k castle and 75k castle stretch edition?

Same mask

There was an early run of the castle edition, not many were made. Nikos made a new mold and is producing the CSE. It is my favorite mask currently available from him. Hope to own one eventually.

I see, so basically the CSE is an updated version of the castle edition?

Basically, yes. I think I remember reading that the original mold broke. I could be mistaken but I’m fairly certain on that.

Correct!

Also just a bit of info- the Castle mask was made by foam filling a 75K in the H78 mold, I believe.

I’m sure this has been asked before too but what is the difference between the old mold and the new mold 75K’s? I honestly never knew

I think the nose was retooled smaller or thinner

Oh ok. Thanks man

Yes this is my early run original castle edition. Apparently there are another 2 copies, one of which I believe was owned by Nik himself.

To my knowledge, they’re 4 total original castle mask before first mold broke. 3 were originally released and the 4th was a blank sold off by nik to Frankie and now with Colin but I know it’s been up for sale recently. As far as the current castle, I’ve been told it’s just a 75k new mold with some tweaks to the chin area.
Great post and info guys

There’s the Old Mold 75K, which is your basic 75K, then there’s the New Mold, which has crisper details. Then there’s the Castle Mold, which has a built in Castle stretch:

Ah, I see, thank you very much for posting that, very helpful!

Here are all my 75k’s . They all are different versions.
From the left to the right:

I like the Castle edition.

You have the old mold. It is more like the '98 Proto but with a less defined shape and details so the nose and face are a bit wider and it’s not quite as defined. Some pulls looked much wider and rounder with wider noses, some looked much nicer and more defined (perhaps deluxe pulls).

The 75K new mold has enhanced details like the crow’s feet, a thinner more defined nose, more defined cheeks and jaw area, more defined brow area, etc.

The 75K Supreme was another re-working, closer to the '98 Proto, but still different than it, sort of in-between it and the new mold 75K. Has a more defined nose bridge, and thinner/not as wide mouth area compared to the '98 Proto, as well as having a thinner and longer face. Not quite in the new mold category with the thinner face and nose, but still thinner than the '98 Proto and especially old mold 75K.

Then you have the 75K Castle mold. From what I recall Nik saying was that he made four, something happened to the mold, so he just re-cast the master (it’s not like a broken mold would be the end as you need the master to make the molds anyway), and that’s the run he’s been using since. The shape is totally re-worked on this one to make it look more like how Nick Castle wore the mask. I think the details are similar to the new mold in terms of the crow’s feet, and little wrinkles and crevices.

The '98 Proto Test Mold is a direct re-casting of the Don Post '98 Proto Kirk at a wearable size without any sort of re-tooling, so there are some odd patches, but it has the strongest detail out of any of the 75K/'98 Proto family, but there is only one 24" size so it’s not the ideal size and shape in terms of closeness to the original as it had to be “blown up” to that size.

The '98 Proto (normal mold) is a re-casting of the Don Post '98 Proto Kirk, but fixes the little errors in the test mold, has a different shape and less detail though. The three sizes actually end up looking quite different from one another (22.5, 23.5, and 24").

I’m also pretty sure the MMK’s were complete re-hauls of the 75K where he may have started with a 75K as a base, but the details and shape ended up being re-sculpted to such a degree that it’s a completely different mask (and even then you have the proto mold, old mold, new mold, and one or two new molds made with a Castle stretch- which weren’t re-sculpts, just stretched before they completely cooled off, he’s done the same with the Nightmare as well).

I’d say that the Supreme is the most traditionally Kirkish out of the 75K’s, the new mold looks more like the Medley Kirk, the '98 Test Mold has the strongest detail, the old mold MMK looks more like forum member Sheriff Brackett’s former Kirk mask (and was meant to), and the Castle mold 75K looks the most like the movie hero mask.

Wow, you certainly know your stuff sir. Thank you very much for taking the time to post that, it is EXTREMELY helpful.
