Do you think the original Halloween was somewhat boring?

    That was good bro

Not boring in the least. I certainly don’t find it frightening anymore, but it’s still a very captivating and spooky film. It’s also just plain fun to watch.

OMG right? Halloween is hecka boring and what’s with that white mask? The final Twilight movie is coming out and it’s going to be DA BOMB! Team Edward beats Team Myers!

Also I collect My Little Ponies.

TTYL

Ironic…I find horror movies with too much gore and action boring. Rather than the other way around.

Stfu! You collect My Little Ponies too!?

Exactly.

I smell trolling.

Are you crazy?
You must be of the younger generation.

Straight on the money

i…the…but…even…now let me…the thing is…if you just…nevermind, i am at a loss.

mike

HOW DARE YOU!! J/k  No I never find it boring one bit. I don’t wear the movie out though, I cycle through a bounch of horror movies then come back to it. I watch 1-4 then go to something else. :sunglasses: >Marty<

This question is :toimonster:

man i watch it at least 2 or 3 times a month just because i been getting lots of masks lately and also love it and will never say it is boring… one of my all time fav movies period.

honestly the blu-ray made me fall in love all over again…
…benny

You obviously don’t get the point of the movie, or the idea of the “slow burn”. Building likeable characters take time, and because you’ve spent so much time with them makes it that much more impactful when Myers appears to kill.

Yawn. I’m bored with your opinion.

In Crystal Lake Memories Joseph Vito I think described horror as being similar to comedy in that it’s based on the buildup and the punchline. Every frame counts, and the execution is just so important in whether you pull it off or not. Just as The Situation can take decent jokes and run them into the ground with terrible execution and delivery, Bill Murray can take the most boring situation and just make it funny.

The original Halloween I think is one of the best testaments to that. The situations as far as horror movies go are really banal if you think about it. Babysitters being stalked and killed- that’s basically the whole story. So what makes it a classic? The execution. From the lighting to music, to the way it was directed and shot- it’s just executed so well that it derives suspense no matter if it’s your first time or 50th or 1000th. To say it’s boring and you think the sequels were more exciting and had better character development is just… :unamused:

I respect your opinion 100% and i,m guessing your slightly younger god I wish I was so that,s a compliment but see it,s just a different generation my 17 year old daughter loves it however but she,s unique! the Zombie stuff I own but naaa? so so I hate the over done sex scenes makes it impossible to watch with my child and I HATE hearing 2 people make out anyhow ARRRRRRRRRR! Makes my toe nails curl :smiling_imp: the overdone cursing is tacky as hell and the acting is HORRIBLE period! u can’t argue that!Still entertaining as can B! Donald Pleasence was fantastic and Jamie Lee come on!I think u have to realize it,s disturbing because it,s realistic where Jason is hard to take 2 serious! I don’t understand your point at all! sorry. I,ll admit my inner feeling that Friday the 13th 1-4 were the epitome of fun and have a powerful effect on me but Halloween 78 and the Fog are much better written stories.MUCH!

I dont think its boring at all, the only one I thought was kind of boringish was Halloween 2 1981, But i’d love if they put those 2 up in theaters again.

I’ve always seen it as suspenseful but I guess by today’s Horror Industry standards it’s boring. :unamused: Today’s horror movies could use a little more Halloween in them.
