Is it me or does this 78 look weird compared to others I’ve seen?
Not really, maybe just a bit wider in the face? Or is that just because of what you have it sitting on? It really looks fine to me.
Your copy there look no different than the two copies I have. In person and not worn, it just has a different look about it. Looks great worn, especially from a distance in person, all the details really look good. So I think it looks fine honestly.

I’ve seen videos where it looks a lot better. Were there different molds?

looks the same to me, perhaps it’s the lighting? light can really change a mask from night to day
It just depends on the angle you. I feel like this mask is hard for me to photograph as what I am seeing in person looks great. But when I look at the photo it looks like shit.
I’ve been to quite a few Spirit Halloween and purchased quite a few Tots 1978 masks. Every mask that I purchased is a little different. Most notably the eye hole cuts and hair color. I’ve been trying to get the ones that look best to me. Major inconsistency in all of the ones I’ve seen. Kind of upset about this because the eyeholes make-or-break the mask.
Mine doesn’t have a slit in the mouth either. To me the mask in that video looks completely different
I just thought that was because of how it was sitting there in your photo. Now there’s something I have not seen yet. I have not seen any of these without the open mouth. The mouth being open changes the whole look of the mask. There’s the issue right there.
Out of the dozens of copies that I have seen over the last month or so, I have never seen a copy where the mouth was not open. That’s a rare event with this mask. Strange, but is definitely a source for why the mask looks different.
Am I stuffing it too much?
