Donald pleasence

He will forever be etched in our minds as a great actor, he made that role of Dr. Loomis come alive with convincing passion. R.I.P Donald… Dean
p.s would be nice to hear from Mr. Warlock on his view on Donald as an actor… Dean

I would like to hear him say a few words as well.

Mr Warlock, are you out there?

I agree that without Donald Pleasence, the Halloween franchise lacks. I’m not saying that the stuff past H2 is awesome, but when Donald is on the screen he brings such an air of sincerity that it makes you forget that the movie isn’t really that good. In my opinion, one of the best parts of H20 is the beginning when the credits are still rolling and we hear his words echoing and see his pictures…it’s just haunting. I wish I could have met him. He is definitely missed.

RIP Mr Pleasence
A legend!

Initially he was not that excited about his part and did not think it was that big a deal. After Halloween 1 & 2 a cult following was formed and he really appreciated it. When he came back in 1988 he was the franchise as much as Michael Myers. In the end he stated that he would continue doing his role in the Halloween franchise for as long as he could. Here was a rock solid character actor for decades, yet he was probably respected more in the horror community for his amazing acting skills than the mainstream media.

I saw Halloween 6 at the theaters the day it came out in 1995. You could tell Donald was getting old but it was great to see him as Loomis. When Jamie Lee Curtis announced she would reprise her role as Laurie Strode in H20 my first thought was “I wish Donald Pleasence was here.”

Great actor that helped this franchise tremendously. He often gets overlooked.

RIP Donald, We miss you!

R.I.P donald

Donals what you done for this franchise and in the acting community is astonishing. May you rest in peace. Never will be none like you.

RIP Donald Pleasence

Best words to ever hit the big screen:

"I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes… the devil’s eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy’s eyes was purely and simply… evil

“I- I- I watched him for fifteen years, sitting in a room, staring at a wall, not seeing the wall, looking past the wall - looking at this night, inhumanly patient, waiting for some secret, silent alarm to trigger him off. Death has come to your little town, Sheriff. Now you can either ignore it, or you can help me to stop it.”

I will always miss having that great acting in the Halloween to come.

wow-i cant beleive its been 15 years :open_mouth:

“…you’re the duke… A-number 1!”
