Badass shot.
Do you still have the Shatty?
Not me, the person who shared this photo worked at Morris Costumes back in the day and that’s where he got the Kirk mask. According to him, he eventually converted it and used it in a haunt for years until it fell apart in the early ‘90s.
Oh man. That’s too bad. He would’ve had himself, a gem.
Wow, this is dope! Thanks for sharing.

WOW! Always such a treat when new pics like this pop up.
So this guy knew the mask was a Kirk mask in the early 80s? That’s something I’ve always wondered about, if anyone watched H1 in 1978, and somehow recognized the Kirk mask, and went home to convert it.
I can’t imagine anyone would know unless they worked in the mask biz. It’s mentioned he worked in a costume shop, maybe word got around the grapevine. Wasn’t Don post in the credits of II? Maybe it’s possible he contacted them and found out.
Some fans knew back then. I know someone who found out about it reading a Starlog issue, some found out in a Fangoria issue, and some just heard about it somehow. Even a kid who found one at a flea market back in the late ‘80s knew, he wore it at a Halloween party as the Shape.[emoji316]
It’s really cool seeing vintage photos of original Kirks like this showing the few that knew of the Myers mask origins. That last shot is pretty interesting, can see them pulling off an H2 look with how the mask stretches in a Warlock-like fashion on them. Very cool finds!
People who say these don’t actually look like William Shatner need glasses, lol.
These are fantastic shots!
It’s truly a creepy mask. Thanks for sharing but it’s truly spectacular mask and I love seeing these old pictures
agreed. just gazing at these vintage photos gives me the same creep factor i get from watching halloween 1 & 2
And yet no mask like it, tell me if I’m wrong
The second pic has the round older Shatner face going for it.
In the second one, the kid was on the heavy side so his face filled out the mask pretty good giving it that creepy Warlock look. Glad y’all enjoyed the photos. I love this stuff.
It’s so interesting seeing eyes in such small eyecuts, but that is what makes it unique!
