Elevator Boots/Halloween Planning

I been trying to figure how am I going to be intimidating and a down right scary 2018 Michael Myers for Halloween. Starting I’m not all that big of a guy. I’m right at 5’11 so I got to be taller. So I started doing my research and came across some sick elevator Boots that will boost me up to 3.5 inches. Pretty sweet only thing I worry about is will they be comfortable to walk in. Lmao! I will have to rehearse in them till I get the walk just right.

Second thing that really gets me worrying is my shoulders need to be a little more wider. Do I just apply a little stuffing? Any ideas is much appreciated

Here’s were I’m getting the boots

5’11 is tall enough. I’m 5’9 and send people fleeing in tears every year. It’s all about the attitude. A 6’5 Myers actor with a chainsaw and a criminal record won’t scare anyone if they aren’t really selling their performance

im 5’7 id kill to be your height bro. seriously though go on tallmensshoes . com i bought a pair.
I went from 5 foot 7 to six foot and a c*nt hair five inch lifts hidden inside. cheaper too.

That’s exactly right you really have to get in that role and come up with some good tactics. What kind of scare tactics do you use?

Honestly man I feel as if I’m not 5’11 though I just feel small. I will check it out. Thank you! Is it hard to walk around in 5 inch lifts?

 your tall bro, youre a whole inch taller than Nick castle the guy who played myers. :myers:

The ones i got werent too bad, theyre easy to walk in I wasnt walking around wobbly like a newborn giraffe.
I wore them from maybe 3pm-9pm my feet didnt hurt after, but my calf/shins felt alittle sore on the walk home.

they arent wobbly or shaky like high heels they have a wide sole so theyre stable.
After 6 hours in them it felt like shin-splints

That’s good to hear. I’m looking forward to getting these boots.

The only issue with elevator boots/lifts is after a certain point it just doesn’t look convincing. Like in H2, you could definitely tell Dick was using them with how his body proportions still looked a bit short even though he was at Nick Castle’s height with the boots he wore.

Yeah well he done a really good job selling his performance. I didn’t see any funny walking like as if he was gonna stumble and bust his face. Nothing like that! I also didn’t think his body proportions looked off either. I just thought the coveralls might of been a size under.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I love Dick Warlock’s take on the shape and his look in the movie. In a way even more than Nick. But with the coveralls being so short in the leg along along with logger boot’s tall heels, you can kinda tell he was trying to make himself look taller to be closer to Nick in H78. It doesn’t take away from his performance, but it’s noticeable if someone is using footwear to get that effect. It’s like Kane Hodder in the Friday movies, wearing his platform boots to be closer to the other stuntmen who played Jason before he did. Really, anything around 5’10-6’ is perfectly fine for playing Michael, and any normal pair of boots without lifts and such are going to give you about an inch in height anyway. I’m right at 6’ barefoot, and a pair of jungle boots with regular insoles makes me feel a good bit taller already.

Hey your good, I’m sorry if I sounded like I was coming off so direct, I didn’t mean it to be that way! Hell yeah im a big DW fan myself. Just the way he did his own thing with character was pretty wicked. As for height talk yeah i guess a take it a little far. I’m lucky to be the height I am. I’m self conscious. So what I’m gonna do is when I get the boots I will see how well they fit and I can move around in them. Hopefully I look good in them to. If all fails I will send them backs. Hope everything works out.

No need to apologize, man. I hope they work out for you and are comfortable. I’ve never worn lifts in boots, so I’m not sure if the rated height increase is just with the insole, or includes the height of the boot sole as well. If you are looking to save money, you can buy heel lift inserts that fit in regular shoes/boots, it’s an option if you want to go that route.

I’ve actually tried heel inserts. They were ok! But from all the info I’ve gathered it looks to be that the heel is 2.5 with inch inside in the boot or it could be 2 inch heel with 1.5 inch on the inside! It’s like diagonally elevated. It’s really neat how they’re made.

Logging boots have the most elevated heels.

I plan on getting some logging boots for my h2 cosplay.

I’ve worn platform boots for my Myers costume but also for my Elias cosplay, they make me close to 6’0 and I’m 5’5, but I mostly cheat my height in shots

My god that’s what a 6 inch boost. Can you walk around good? Cool cosplay. Who is that?

I can, and it’s very easy for me, it gives you a good leg workout due to the weight, I’ve had to stand around in them for up to 3 hours in the costume while doing scares, the character is Elias Ainsworth from The Ancient Magus Bride anime
