ever get burned out?

ive been felling a little burned out on halloween, or masks in general, anyone else get like this? i think im gonna take a break so when halloween comes around and im manager of spirit halloween ill be excited

Never!Unless if I own like all the myers masks I could ever want lol

nope never
I’ve been into Horror since I was like 7 or 8 and I’m 32 now
its part of my life

It will pass by tomorrow most likely

:open_mouth: NEVER!!!

Never bro!!! I’m a lifer. Started at age 6 when I watched the first Elm Street with my father now Im 31 and haven’t looked back. I watch horror every day. My house always has Halloween decorations up, and I like it that way. :drinkers:

If you get burned out this quick then I would say it isn’t your cup of tea. To me theirs Myers guys and then there’s all around collectors. If you only collect Myers I don’t see you in it for the long run. Me, I like tons of stuff out there and have yet to collect a ton of masks that I want besides Myers.

ABSOLUTELY NOT, NEVER!!

MICHAEL MYERS AND HALLOWEEN, AS MANY OF YOU GUYS HAVE SAID… HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE SINCE I WAS VERY YOUNG, ONCE I SAW HALLOWEEN FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THE BEHIND THE BUSH SCENE I WAS HOOKED.

I JUST GOT INTO COLLECTING A YEAR AGO AND I LOVE IT, GREAT COMMUNITY WITH A LITTLE DRAMA FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO LIVES BUT OVERALL I WILL BE A MYERS/HALLOWEEN/MASK FANATIC FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!

MYERS FOREVER!!
:smiling_imp:

TAKE CARE,

JIM

Definitly never. and i agree with matt, i also, Collect everything, im not just a myers guy, i love all types of masks, Z

No.

My love of Myers stems from my passion for Halloween The Holiday, so even if I’m not in a “Myers” phased I’m always in a Halloween phase. And Ryan, my house always has at least a few Jack-O-Lanterns up!

Same here !!! But I’ve been onto horror since I was five !!! I also agree with MaskCollecter10, I collect all different kinds of masks…not just Myers masks!! Matter of fact I just got a American Werewolf In London mask from NAG …it’s awesome !!!

My passion is TERMINATOR and my collecting of TERMINATOR related stuff is 1st and formost. But I also love the Halloween franchise ( the original H1 & h2 ) and enjoy collecting items from it too. As a musician I collect guitars and Amps and just can’t get enough of those things too. I collect so many things that I never have enough time with work and family to get burned out collecting. My collecting seems to come in phases which for me works good because I collect really strong in one area for a bit and then I get a calling towards something else for a bit and everything comes full circle. I would have to say for me at least if I only collected one thing I would most likely have to take a break from it from time to time to keep it exciting. Good post. Mike

I get “bummed out” (because there are always pieces I want and can’t afford) but never burned out! Of course Myers is only one of the masks I’m interested in so that keeps the field of play fresh for me.

I can’t imagine ever losing that child-like excitement and anticipation each time a new box comes to my home and I open it up to see (and smell) a newly aquired piece of latex looking at me through the plastic!

I like that Benny, I agree.
Just being honest here, I get more “burned” out when I see certain things that happen on this board.
There are certain things that can’t be more obvious, and its sad when members turn there heads or hide from it because they are afraid to get lynched by other members, if they say something or have an opinion…
We used to have good debates here until clicks and stuff started to form.
I used to feel like part of a family here. It seems like people get defensive when you give an opinion anymore especially when the obvious is right in front of you…
I mean heck, if something was said in a rude manner well, I agree, that person should back off but I’m talking about “general” opinions. I’m not going to go into detail because I don’t feel its neccessary and PLEASE don’t pm me about it. I miss the good ole days in regards to EVERYONE respecting each other, this goes for artists and mask makers as well.

Take Care!
J

Would not say burned out, i just need to slow down. I keep saying “all i need is a pennywise, a crowley, and a nice Creeper, than i can take a long break!” but course i got this nagging voice saying “But…wouldnt you like a Friday the 13th mask and bag/hock from each film too?? what about the variant Freddys??” hehe.

Only problem is, i gotta go buy a new shelf for these guys, half of em are in the closet in boxes till i can display them right. Course Friday or Saturday im ganna get the shelves and post the pics.

but burned out on horror and collecting? no way. And i think one of the scariest movies i saw as a kid was Return of the Living Dead

AMEN on that! It seems so odd to me that a group of people who all came here for the same basic reasons can have so much hostility toward each other.

Bingo…
I’ve seen, lets say, interesting topics open up, and the members who open them are very sincere and stated there opinion is a nice manner, but then, get lynched… Why? Guilty concious from the “lynchers”, somewhere? :open_mouth:
Its sad. We used to have great talks back in the day without the hostility because it wasn’t as “clicky” as today. It honestly reminds me of high school and those days are loooong gone for me.
Hopefully, that begins to fade in the future, and members can give opinions, without feeling like they will be lynched for it.
We’ll see…

Getting burned out in any hobby is natural. Some hobbies people have been in for a quick buck, others were because of passion about something. Regardless, there comes a point where that excitement doesn’t equal the work/effort/excitement it once did. I’ve been in another hobby of mine for 10 years or so. Been at it for life if you want to get technical. It is very lucrative but time consuming. I enjoy it but don’t necessarily get that adrenaline rush like I used to. I’m ready to hang it up and move on. Masks have been a passion of mine but I’ve never pursued them like I’m doing now. Taking a break is a good thing. Once you start to question whether or not you are burned out, then you already have your answer.

Good luck regardless!

if your feeling abit burnd out you should get another mask, that will always rekindle the flame :stuck_out_tongue:

i agree with Matt here, no longer than you’ve been around and made posts then perhaps your passion doesnt require you to make daily visits.
dont log back on for afew days or until you feel that ‘urge’.

and yeah J there are deffinitely clicks here on the board. however ive yet to take part in anything in life that didnt have close select groups that would lynch others who opposed what they’re click is in favor of. if this site didnt used to be that way then thats awesome and i can see why some senior members miss the good ole days. but as i said with my life experiences it was only a matter of time. the community grew and when you get this many people togeather, they will naturally start flocking with other like minded folks. and then you have some lost folks who will take on a mind set because they are looking for a ‘click’ to fit in with.
and thats pretty much the M-M.net i came in on. so me not having any ‘good ole days’ to compare it to, i just take the bad with the good. my love for Halloween and Michael Myers is too strong for me to be ran off by clicky crowds. and overall, there are alot more good folks here than trash talkers and i hope i have more friends than foes here, but such as life, i’ll take the good, the bad, and the mask :stuck_out_tongue: :drinkers:
