Fan Film near San Francisco?

Just wondering if anybody is working on a Halloween Fan Film in the San Francisco Bay Area? I think it would be fun to work on one

Let me know if you find out, I’m in Concord  :drinkers:

Nice, im about a half hour away in Brentwood, but im in Concord quite often at Rasputins or Guitar Center and starting at DVC soon

I’m in SF, lemme know, I’d be down to help.

Brentwood huh? Small world  Yeah guys that would be something I’d be interested in, maybe we could get something going…

I’m down to get something going, just a matter of finding actors and getting a good storyline going. By the end of June I should have a new video camera that shoots in HD and 24p so it would have a film look (Canon HV40)

That sounds good, I know a few people who could help out with this and that, even a couple of houses for shoots. One place is in Martinez, lots of space at the top of a hill and pretty secluded. Even has a big deck with a 15 foot drop

Sounds awesome, i just wish i had an idea for a fan film that is different from the others. I can provide some good equipment because i’ll be in the film courses at DVC so i can borrow gear as well as from my former high school teacher.

Right, that sounds good. We could kick some ideas around, maybe some other people that are in our general area will see this too. Just keep it in mind and keep me posted, sounds like it would be a blast

I have writing experience and wouldn’t mind taking a crack at a Halloween short. I think we could play up some sides of Michael that have been overlooked since the original. Like Michael’s twisted sense of humor (the blanket scene). Could be cool. If we’re aiming for summer, that would work better for me. We could film in a weekend.

im actually writing a fan made screenplay / script whatchya think?

Untitled “Halloween” concepts
Characters:
John Strode- the “Ahab” character. Pays homage to Dr. Loomis, more or less plot device. Investigating the murder of his mother Laurie strode not convinced she committed suicide. Believes after doing research of the crime scene evidence that the whole thing is a cover up by the cult of “thorn”.
Michael Myers- after escaping “the Hill Crest Academy Murders” Michael is drawn by “thorn” to finish Laurie and return home. Taking back his stab wounded, blood stained jump suit along the way. Done cleverly, don’t want to give too much action away. Perhaps have a scene of coroners are about to open up the body bag and notice its already open with nude headless corpse of Laurie’s victim on a bloody stretcher. Michael takes stolen ambulance car back to Illinois and breaks in to police county evidence room to recover his half burnt, slightly chard mask (JC H1 mold) from the night he came home, his bloody tears run down the mask face. On the way back to Haddonfield Michael is picked up by the cult. And vanishes until the next cycle of thorn continues.
Dr. Loomis- is only portrayed through memories or narrative monologs and or visions. The heart and soul of this project. Want to use a memory scene and have Loomis unlock some secret but don’t know what yet, possible information of what happened to him between the events of curse and H20.
Stephen Myers aka Bryan Eldridge- now a seventeen year old student to a nearby sister town of Haddonfield called Russellville. Under the name Bryan eldridge and unaware of his past he is now an adopted child of jerry and Pam eldridge. Stalked by Dr. Terrence Wynn (the man in black). Pays homage to Laurie but not have him the main focus of story. Truth is uncovered at end after a john strode (Loomis type) rescue.
Dr. Terrence Wynn- the “big brother” of the second act. The watcher of potential victims. Use as “the voice of Michael” but only “come to me” and “kill for him” references.

Story outline
Michael walks away from the murder scenes of hill crest academy. Drives to the institution were Laurie is being held. Will not have the death of Laurie in this. Instead Michael pulls up to the asylum gets out and stares at Laurie’s window (foreshadow her death). Michael returns home to pick up his mask. He then hides away with thorn through underground corridors of his basement which leads to the new cult sanctuary. Lies dormant until next cycle of thorn, possibly ten yrs later. In that time we meet john strode now a federal agent of investigation. Who is not convinced that his mother just ended it all with a jump off the roof. Good area to work on character development and Loomis memories as research of his mother’s death is unearthed.
We also meet Bryan Eldridge getting ready to go to school being stalked by man in black. He feels wanted yet alone, as if people knew more about his past and he doesn’t know it.
Knowing that Michael is still missing john goes to Haddonfield out of the obsession and the knowing that the cult thorn exist.
John now knows that Bryan (Steven Myers) is linked to all this he goes in search of him.
Michael is now under the surge of thorn and goes out on samhain in hopes to retrieve his son.
John comes in for rescue and finds out that he knows more than Bryan in all this. And in heart does not tell him…
Have Michael escape,
