**So besides the mask the most Iconic thing for me about the Halloween movies is the infamous main theme song. The main title theme has been changed for every single film in the franchise so I wonder, What is you guys favorite version of this iconic theme and why?
For me it would be Halloween II 1981. In my opinion Halloween II had the best sound track in the franchise. I loved how the theme was close to the classic but slightly enhanced in a more sinister fashion. I do have to give huge credit to Halloween Resurrection because the main theme in that film was done very well and lands in my top 5.**
Note I did not include Halloween 3 as I am only sticking with films that are cannon to one of the Myers timelines.
I love them all but especially Halloween II, Halloween IV, Halloween V, and Halloween. My favorite is “the shape stalks again” from Halloween II when Myers stalks Laurie Strode in the Hospital. But without the original there would be no Halloween II theme. Halloween II is like a more pissed off version lol. So I love both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I19xgC1xHA
Honestly like H2’s theme because of the organ, here’s one completely done on a church organ, and it sounds 100x better in my opinion, compared to other themes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-EStbwlYZI&t=103s
H1 and H40 have the best themes by far.
And I agree, not a fan of the synth H2 theme all that much either…it sounds too upbeat for me and not as sinister as H1 or H40.
I think the main theme from H1 is the creepiest. All the other themes have that kick drum in it. The original theme besides the soundtrack release doesn’t have that kick in it. I think it sounds far more eerie compared to the rest of them.
