Is the contest just for H1? If not, why isn’t the CGP Warlock listed as a possibility. It is hands down the best replica, wish I owned one.

Where’s the love for the V75… I think Chris made something truly special when he brought these masks out! For all of us who own one I think we can all agree on that! This is all about opinions and I figured I would throw mine in for the Vintage 75! It’s the top H-1 mask in my eyes, and it dosent take a bad picture at all! Hope nobody minds but I wanted to throw in a pic of it!

The Warlock is definitely one of the best sellers the indie mask world has ever seen but so many great replicas have come out since that it wasn’t nominated in. The Warlock DID get votes but not enough to make the list.
I took the top 15 masks (based on the number of nominations) to include on this voting list. Had nothing to do with personal opinion, just strictly on what the members nominated in for the final vote.
Putting all my masks side by side now I think both the old and new mold 75K’s have an equally awesome shape, the new mold still has a bit more detail though.
I’ve always personally been surprised about how much love the KH/DW gets (especially after the more accurate H2SM came out, though there is always nostalgia and love for original sculpts) I would have thought the DB2 deserved much more love, but the diversity of opinion is an awesome thing and the world shouldn’t be any other way.
I am equally surprised that some still don’t see it when it comes to the KH/DW. Look at Jon’s photos, what’s not to love except the price?
The same could be said about my 2k conversion, Paul. My pics are pure H1, Jon’s are pure H2. It’s apples to oranges and votes I’m sure votes are going to be thrown at masks that capture, which particular movie look fans like more, H1 or H2. I’m an H1 guy, and the vast majority of Kh fans are H2 guys. Every argument, I ever hear about which mask is the best always comes back to Jon’s pics of the Kh are this or that. If we are to stick with the Jon motif as a yard stick to accuracy then one must remember that Jon’s worn pics in his 2k Kirk looked insanely H2 even in Kirk form. Additionally, his costume shots in Matt L’s Db2 JC conversion were top notch H2 shots. I’d go as far as saying his 2k and Db2 costume shots were just as good if not better in many respects to his Kh shots. The two masks with the top votes are far from the most accurate, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t hurt that Creep and 75k owners outnumber Kh, Db2, 2k, and 4 stamper owners combined

It has to do more with the mask than the person wearing it. Jon’s photos are just the best that mask has looked worn. You can post shots with it on a stand and it still has that look that I don’t get from other masks. It feels like a screen used mask. No offense to other masks but I only get that feeling from the KH/DW and the four stamp. That doesn’t mean I don’t like any other masks because I still own others. The funny thing about the vote is if this was 2008 the H78 would be on top and now it’s not even in the running.

Hell go back a couple years before that and you’d have the majority of the board boasting that the October78 was the best mask Matter of fact, when I came into this hobby and busted my balls to locate and buy the 4 stamp proto the majority of the board, who today hail the 4 stamp as one of the best masks made, thought I was insane! They thought the 4 stamp wasn’t anything special and that the Psycho was the best of the best. “Fical” is the best word to describe mask opinions in this hobby.
Yeah I was the second highest bidder for that four stamp on ebay. That mask was perfect. I don’t recall them being run of the mill status at that time just hard to locate. I believe it sold for just under $700. Should have bid higher Some of those early psychos are still among the best. I would love to have that psycho h2 proto. The original proto was another gem before the hair got changed. Even that psycho se you had was top notch. They just had it whatever it is.
I still love my old Psycho masks from the original proto, SE proto, and H2 #2 copy that I owned, and I actually still rank the Psycho above the Creep/Shat. I agree Darren’s Psycho H2 proto is an incredible piece. I too have been searching for the Psycho #1 copy for years, but have had no luck tracing it down. I have long wanted to see Justin re-tool the Psycho as I believe a re-tool with Kirk eyes sculpted in and a tweaked chin would make for a mask that is hard to beat. I know the Creep is the staple Myers mask for Justin at the moment, but a limited edition, high end Nightowl piece is long over due, IMO and a perfected Psycho would perfectly fit such a role.
So am I understanding this correctly that Jon Dano IS the most accurate Myers mask ever made? His mom wanted a doctor, but she got an H2 head instead.

If I was offered a choice of any Myers replica I’d still have to go with the KHDW. Dick’s copy to be specific. I’ve flip flopped between H2 and H1 over the years and its very easy to be seduced by the flavor of the month but the road ultimately leads back to the KH. I’m with Kris on the fact the KH isn’t the most accurate but it has a “lived in” look like no other. Not to mention the softest latex I’ve ever felt. I miss my old copy.

Would that be a NAG/75K that is then converted by JC…you send a NAG/75K to him or something, then he works on it, etc.?
I’ve been on this site for two years and still can’t figure out what all the short forms and letters mean 
Is there a spot on this site that has a legend for what all the short forms mean? If so, I think that would help out a lot of people new to the hobby (well, to me at least!)

A “JC NAG/75K” is indeed a NAG/75K converted by JC (James Carter). Someone either sends him a blank or he redoes an existing 75K.
That’s not a bad idea Brian, sometimes we senior members forget that not everyone knows our jargon and abbreviations!
Voting ends in 3 days for the Ten Best Myers mask replicas EVER!! The top three masks thus far are separated by only FIVE votes and two or three others are TIED. If you haven’t voted do it while you have your chance!
Just a note: Since there is a GOOD possibility that some masks will end in a tie, I will go back and count the nominations for these masks to assign a rank to each rather than let them end in a tie. This seems like the most logical and fairest way.
If after the nominations there STILL is a tie, the masks tied will just share that particular number ranking on the list.
