Am I the only one who thinks it strongly resembles the Mabry TOTS H1978 mask? Obviously with better paint and hair?
Wouldn’t surprise me if Mabry sculpted the fb mask. But i agree that there’s some resemblence especially compared to the product photo specifically.

You may be right. Just the mouth area seems so flat for that mask. Unless it’s a retool of it??
I just hope if it is a new sculpt that it’s released to the masses. I love what I’m seeing!
Indeed. Especially if you look at some of the rehauled ones out there, like Simon Brandolino’s and Nick Mulpagano. That sculpt is a great one, it’s just not '75 Kirk-esque? No doubt though when repainted/rehaired it looks exactly like the mask when worn by Castle particularly from certain shots and angles. If it is new/retooled certainly hope they release it to the masses as well!

Assuming it’s a new sculpt, it’s pretty exciting to see a completely different take on it. Especially from somebody outside of the hobby.
Wonder if it’ll have any sort of flesh tone.
A buddy of mine who saw the film in a test screening said no. Said the mask looked 78 but was way too white and clean

Yes, essentially “TLW” style. Intended to be the white blank mask how it looked right after conversion. Which makes sense, because in that world it was a white mask, not a captain kirk mask spray painted white
