So I’m bored at work and thought this might be fun. I apologize if this has been done before. Neither of these lists are how I would rank the franchise, but it is interesting. Do you agree with any of these?

I agree with both of them in a way. Besides H1 and H2, the rest of the movies have good moments and bad moments. It’s hard to make a definitive order in my opinion.

As much as I like some of the later sequels, I’ve always felt 1, 2 & 3 were in a class among themselves, and above the rest. I know I’m not alone in my opinion, but it has to do with Carpenter, Hill, Cundy, Wallace, and the music. There is just a mood that exists throughout those that can’t be duplicated for some reason. I think the main name is Cundy. He shoots movies so beautifully.

I agree with you PJ75. Those 3 cannot be replicated, and the sequels past 3 are not as good. Although I prefer 4, and 6 over 5, H20, and Resurrection.

Thanks. The original 3 continue to unnerve me. I can’t say the same about the others, even though I felt H20 & H18 were both great efforts, despite the latter being so divisive. I enjoy 4 & 6 as well, but not in the same way.

Yep, Halloween # 1 / Halloween 18 # 2. The rest are irrelevant.

Either could be accurate depending on the person. Nostalgia ties in heavily and certain fans have H4 as #1 growing up in the 80’s. For me it’s H1 as #1 and H40 and H2 tied at 2nd.
