Gonna try and carve my first foam pumpkin this season. Best tool to use?

I heard it was a dremel, just not sure which one I should get. Since I am going to probably only use it for pumpkin carving, I didn’t plan on spending more than around the 40 dollar mark. Also, I have the original pumpkin template from the original Halloween movie, and that is what I plan on carving. How difficult is this pattern for someone who has never used a dremel on a fake pumpkin? Thanks again

I carved my pumpkin with a hot knife. I got mine at michaels in the wood working section. I don’t know what brand pumpkin you have though, mine was from hobby lobby. The dremel should work fine as well, but the knife was less messy and a little easier to control. Here’s a few pics of how it turned out.

that looks amazing! Awesome job. While doing research the other day on the subject, I did in fact come across a video on youtube of someone using a hot knife. I thought about that as well. I am going to Michaels and Hobby Lobby this weekend. I am definitely going to look into the hot knife tool

I used a small pocket knife for mine. Not a lot of mess, and easy to work with
