Good Myers Mask for First-Timer?

Hey everybody! I’m new here; signed up because this seems to be a place where everybody is very passionate about their masks!

Anyway, I LOVE H1 Michael Myers and really want to get a good beginners mask. I’ve been doing a lot of looking around, watching a ton of videos and basically driving myself absolutely crazy. So far, the best “cheap” options are the TOTS Elrod mask or their H2 Deluxe mask.

As far as head size, I don’t know what I am because I don’t have any way to measure it. However, I do have the H2 Economy mask. Cool mask, but I want something a step above. That mask is a bit snug, but I can get into it with no issue and it’s very comfortable to wear.

My first choice would be the Elrod mask, but I hear that’s even smaller than the Economy mask, which would have me a bit nervous. I think the size of the Economy mask is pushing it ever so slightly. My next choice would be the H2 Deluxe mask. That would be perfect to me if it weren’t for the neck! I hate how the color goes from white to flesh so abruptly and so high up on the neck. Maybe seeing it in person would change my mind, but from videos and pictures, I don’t like that at all.

If I had the funds, my absolute first option would be a Cemetery Gates Fear mask. It is absolutely astonishing how great that mask looks! I looked on their website, though, and it looks like there’s no option to buy this mask… I’m not sure if you need to email Terry directly or if he’s just not doing them at this time, but that would be my absolute first choice.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Anybody with both the Economy and the Elrod masks that can tell me about the size comparison?

I own the TOTS Ben Tramer mask, and it is indeed small on me, and my head size is 23.5 inches. I also own the TOTS H2 deluxe mask, and its a great mask to start with. I feel the same way about the flesh tones on the neck, so to make it more like it appeared in H1, I took some white acrylic paint, and painted the whole mask because if you just paint the neck, there will be a very distinct color difference between the more dull white on the face vs the stark white on the neck. It turned out well, maybe a bit chalky though, but overall I can’t really complain. As far as the size goes, the TOTS H2 deluxe is 25 inches I believe, so it’s known as a larger mask. With my head being 23.5 inches, it’s definitely pretty big on me. Basically a mask should be either half an inch or one inch larger than your head size for a good fit. All you really need to measure your head is a tape measure. Not the ones that you use for construction that roll up, but the smaller ones that you might use to measure your waist when dieting, for example.

Sinister Studios Hiro Mask is a very reasonably priced H1 mask. Highly recommended.

Agreed, Sinister studios has some great masks for just a little bit more then TOTS but they are really solid masks.
