I know the coveralls didn’t have the hammer loop on the left leg, but did they have the small double rule pockets on the right leg?
The pair I have had both until I removed the hammer loop. Just want to know if those little pockets need to go as well.
Thanks guys.
The coveralls for Halloween were charcoal Big Macs and the coveralls for Halloween II were olive green. NONE of them had that silly hammer loop or the little pockets on the side
H2 was spruce green. DW mentioned this. KH took pics of them and also bought the same pair for his costume and stated they were spruce.
Oh it does have the hammer loop.
H1 pocket…It’s a double pocket
H1 Hammer loop
That does it right there! Looks like I’ve got some re-sewing to do, lol.
The pockets I was talking about are two small, thin pockets just under the right back pocket on the outside of the leg.
I think they were used for rulers and such. The schoolyard screen cap cuts off RIGHT before you’d be able to see them.
Thanks for chiming in with pics brother K. H1 olive wood Big Macs/ H2 spruce green Sears/ H4 blue denim fisher stripe Big Macs/ H5 grey fisher stripe Big Macs/ H6 grey walls/ H7 charcoal redkaps/ H8 navy blue Dickies.
I noticed that in the schoolyard scene when The Shape gets into the car, it seems like there is no hammer loop. I also noticed that his sleeve cuffs have snaps as opposed to the button style. You can see them on his right arm when he turns behind the fence to start trailing Tommy right after running into Lonnie. Aren’t there times where his cuffs can be seen with buttons in the film too?
Maybe it’s true that they used two different pairs on set.
Zoom in and looking from the front, look at the left sleeve, it looks like a snap button, but depending on the angle, sometimes you see the large button end, and sometimes you see the back that looks like a snap. I’m not saying mine are THE ones used on film, but these are the closest I have found, Big Macs, which is widely believed to be the brand, smooth back (no seam down the back), correct collar buttons, with snap top button closure, and correct square pocket flap. I did have to dye them as they were 1950’s hot rod white, but after 3 dye baths that’s what I’ve got.
What’s up with that hole right near the top of the zipper on the one’s Nick’s wearing? At first I thought it was just a tear or a spot where the zipper or snap may have worn through the fabric. I recently saw a bunch of coveralls on eBay that had a jeans-style button there instead of a snap, so I was wondering if that could be a button hole.
