H1/H4 Cover painting advice

Hey guys:

I’m converting my Elrod into an H1 and my Tots H2 deluxe into the H4 Cover art (the mask we were cheated out of in the actual movie). In any case, I’m having trouble bringing out some of the details like the nose, lips, and cheek bones without overpainting. Any advice on techniques for subtle alterations from just plain white to something more on point? A glaze maybe?

Subtle black acrylic paint works wonders with shading on the nose, etc. In my opinion though if you want a cover mask look, the TOTS Hospital mask is a much better base. It is based on the NightOwl Maniac sculpt which originates from the H4 Cover mask

Dry brush. First, don’t go as dark as you may initially think necessary. You can always go darker. Then, use dry brushing with very light strokes.
