Halloween 1978 and Halloween II 1981 have many aspects of the films that as fans of these movies we love and enjoy. One major aspect for both is the music score. Carpenter’s classic piano and Howarth’s Gothic synthesizer style score …overall which film do you feel has the better music score ?
H1 or H2?..
That is a really tough one but I have to give it to the original bc that is where the iconic theme and the creation of that unique sound was discovered and utilized. I also think it was a bit more creepy than the sequel. I can’t give it to H2 bc I don’t think it necessarily perfected the original score but man do I love it! I love all the new themes it introduces and how it changed the original. I enjoyed most of the score of h40 but it doesn’t even compare to H2 in my opinion. But yeah, H1 gets my vote
Tough choice, but it’s H1 for me. What John Carpenter did with the 1978 score was perfect, in that it was so simple, yet effective, and downright chilling. I love H2 (1981)'s score as well, especially due to how the synth gives it a darker, more sinister tone, but you just can’t beat the original in my opinion.
