I’m done talking to you lol. You genuinely believe your opinion matters more than other peoples’ and refer to other people’s opinions as “stupid”. This has been a sad conversation stick with your opinions and please leave me alone now thanks.
Actually just arguing with a self-entitled weirdo since he doesn’t know what an opinion is. And sorry I actually give advice to people rather than posting once a month for a decade to bash opinions like a weirdo.
Hey bud I got a whole lot of COLD brews and some good company here watching AMC I can bitch and argue with you all night long if you feel the urge…
don’t make a fudge 2 me.
I WILL STAND MY GROUND… The new movie is fun and has it’s moments but if you replace it AS your H2 then you be a dumdum poo poo.
The new Halloween doesn’t replace H2 for me, and it’s my new favorite after the first two Halloween movies, but I definitely think it’s on par with H2. One of the best sequels we’ve gotten from this franchise.
In my opinion H2 is one of my least favourite sequels I enjoy all the sequels (other than Resurrection) more than H2. So to me comparing H2 and H 2018 there is no contest for me that 2018 is a much better film for multitudes of reasons including a big one for me that JJC was more in tune and consistent with Castle’s 78 performance as opposed to the slow robotic Dick Warlock who just seemed too different than the portrayal of Myers in the movie it’s supposed to be a continuation off of.
Its really hard to pick at the moment. Right now I’d say the new one is better but that might be because its new and I’m still buzzing from the hype. When the hype has died down and I’ve watched it again it’ll be more clear.
To be honest I think I’ll still prefer the new one because it actually takes place on the streets and in the homes of haddonfield. As much as I like h2 I was never a huge fan of it being set mainly in a hospital.
To me the movie “Halloween” is a stand alone brilliant movie. That is definitive in many ways. When this time of year rolls around, I immediately think of this movie. It defines what the season, my favorite season of the year, is to me. H2 to me, is another stand alone movie that bears little resemblance to the original. It is good on it’s own, but not nearly as good as “Halloween”. In no way did the original need a follow up. It was perfect as it. But this new movie is much more in keeping with the original than H2. Though not a better movie than H2, but a proper follow up, and not another stand alone movie. On a scale of 1 to 10, imo. “Halloween” is a 10, H2 is a 7 and H2018 is a 7, maybe 6 and 1/2.
Some of you older guys might remember the Marvel “What If…” timelines. I’m undecided as to which of H2 or 2018 I’m going to treat as that alternative at the moment. I’m definitely going to see this again at the flicks, and I sincerely hope that the bluray has an extended cut, as I feel they left a lot on the editing room floor and some of the movie felt rushed.
Its a hard one for me because both are really good but if I hade to choose I would go with H40. My reason is because I never liked the idea of Myers and Laure being siblings. It just never sit right with me and I liked the idea of Michael killing because he wanted too and because he was pure evil and not because he just wanted to kill his sister. I get the motive but having it just be a random incident seems more scary and makes him more unpredictable. With that being said I also loved the mask! It was absolutely amazing. I know that the original 81 is the same mask as the 78 but I was never a fan of how it looked on dick warlock. Now don’t get me wrong he was an amazing Myers but some things I did not like. For me really it all sits on the sibling thing. That’s the deal breaker for me and that’s really the only reason why I pick 2018 over 1981. Both are phenomenal films!
If I had to edge it this would be exactly why. The idea of a stalker, almost a revenge killer is definitely scary; the idea of a man who lives and breathes evil and kills with no reason at all is truly chilling. When the reporters asked him to speak and everybody started acting like crazy dogs yet he said no words you could really feel the presence of evil! H2 is a classic and I’ll have to watch 2018 again but I really loved it!
I agree 100% I was reading the thread more and its crazy how people get so mad about opposite opinions. The H40 film had its flaws as all of them do but I would consider it one of the best sequels IMO.

Agree. I enjoyed it very much. I think they did a great job on it. I don’t stay for the entire credits.
I also think he may have gotten out.
And the fact that they kept it close to the original is what I really loved. The Laurie scene…she’s not in the grass when Micheal is looking down from balcony was awesome. lol
It did not disappoint, and when the announced that J.C. was back in the game, I had a great feeling about it.
Forgetting the whole brother/sister thing, I still like H2 (81) better. I have always thought it was a perfect sequel and the hospital location was creepy as hell.
Thought the movie was okay, definitely in the top 5 Halloween’s for me. But I do wonder what scenes were scrapped because I do remember there supposed to be scenes that take place at the hospital because they posted pictures of the HMH. The whole movie seemed to flow really fast and would have been better if it had more stalking and filler scenes to flesh out the town and the teens.
