H18 is a solid movie. Always separated the Halloween franchise in two. H1 and H2 , then the rest. During the Halloween season, I like to watch H1, H2 and H3, yearly . I rarely , rarely watch the rest . I’ve seen H4, H5, H6, H20 Resurrection and Rob Zombies movies once, in the past 10 years. H-2018 is a movie that I will view once a year , along with H1 and H2 . Definitely my 3rd favorite Myers movie.
Same exact here…four movies for me…H1-H3 and this new one. The rest of them I don’t watch or consider. When I walked out of this movie I felt totally different than when I walked out of H20. Finally something worthwhile. This Myers was the truest to what Nick created. It’s number 2 Myers for me.
H2 has heavy nostalgia and it’s hard to judge seeing H2 200x and the new film just once but I loved the way they represented evil and I might place this film right after thei original. His kill count more than made up for the removal of the original sequel films
I saw Halloween 2018 last night and thought was a good film. I really liked the appearance of Myers, and the mask was as about as good as I could ask for… Really dug the look! The score was great, and really added to the scenes nicely! The cast was fair, I found myself liking certain characters, but pretty disinterested in others as well… I wasn’t entirely too into Laurie’s family (Mainly the Granddaughter in most of her role)… They went to the well a few times too many on the comic relief for my taste, but that’s just me! I liked Jamie Lee’s performance in this film, and loved James Jude Courtney as Myers! I really liked the Cinematography… Particularly during the darker scenes. There’s a semi-twist that I don’t want to give away, but am curious to see how people react to it. The kills were good too, IMO! The film for the most part represented Myers in a way that makes me happy to be a fan… He was tough, menacing, ruthless, and relentless, while also being stealth and calculated.
With all that being said, it still doesn’t compare to H-2 1981, and to be honest, I never even expected it to. The original H-2 is without a doubt THE best sequel not only in this series, but the best sequel in any series EVER, IMHO. It may seem like a bold statement, but that’s what I truly think, and how I’ve always felt. If most sequels in film franchises were half as good as H-2 1981 was to H-1 1978, they would be taken a lot more serious, and be much more anticipated. Despite some of the criticisms the critics had for the film, I thought that it was as good as the Original in many ways, and I’m not the only fan that feels that way! I though Dick Warlock as Myers was Excellent, he wore the mask very well, and moved in a way that just “Did it” for me. The theme/themes sounded different, but it was every bit a effective, and in some ways, I prefer them! The hospital scenes were awesome, and have always been very memorable for me. The Elrod Knife, and Scalpel (While not as iconic as the Lamson) were very cool, and unique choices to me. Loomis is awesome in this film, and I loved Donald Pleasence’s performance and quotes in this one as well. Most of all, I really appreciate the fact that it takes place right where the original 1978 film left off… Literally the same night! Not to mention It’s carried on, and executed extremely well. There are many sequels where the story takes place immediately after the first, but very few manage to recapture the same feel the original had, It just seems like two different movies loosely tied together, and the tone is completely off. H-2 1981 does not have this problem…. In fact, it really nails the immidiate continuation from the first, thus keeping the same momentum the first had and running with it, IMO.
Like I said before Halloween 2018 is a good film, and I enjoyed it, but it’s too tall of a task to expect it to outdo the original 1981 sequel. It was a valiant effort, and a decent alternative if you’re into that sort of thing. I’d also go as far to say is better than every other sequel besides H-2 in the original series, IMO… However, it doesn’t hold a candle to the original H-2 for me personally. Sorry for the long post! …ANDY
They had no choice but to disregard it, he died in H2. Everything after that was supernatural and they wanted to keep him as a human-being and not a monster that needs a supernatural cult to bring him back to life. They also didn’t want Laurie as his sister as to make the killing more randomized and with less reason. Everybody’s opinions are different but I definirely enjoyed it.
You considering somebody else’s opinion laughable is a joke in of itself. Many people agree with me and I don’t care what your opinion on my opinion is but keep up the awkward grumpy attitude. It must pain you to live in a world where your opinions aren’t fact
You literally sound like a teenager gossiping at lunch
Hope it doesn’t break your heart to know that many people like RZH2 much better than H2. Sorry in all your years on Earth you haven’t been able to properly define “opinion”. You don’t debate, you argue and name call. I’m good on talking to you stay in your fantasy land where your opinions are the only ones valid. Sorry I hurt your feelings bud
