H2 Coveralls Sears catalog="Dark Green"

Was extending my Sears catalog search from H1 to H2 since they’re all visible at https://christmas.musetechnical.com/

Since H2 was filmed in a few weeks during 1981 and Dick Warlock said he went to Sears, the coveralls and boots have to be from the 1981 line or maybe 1980- most stores put their newest items out unless they are exactly the same as the prior year.

What I found was
-Coveralls that match are called out as Perma-Prest; could have a tag saying Tradewear, Work’n Leisure, or Perma Prest. Sears was really not very consistent or descriptive
-Available in short lengths, probably how we get the highwater look. Regular length coveralls won’t look short on anyone under 6’ tall.
-Only green color is “Dark Green”, not spruce green. I also believe the coveralls were dark green based on behind the scenes pictures. They look darker in H2 than H1 to me.
-2 similar logger boots available, can’t see details or rivets. Likely was a Sears brand. I don’t believe Sears sold outside vendor clothing in that time period but I’m not old enough to remember. This might be why we don’t know the brand. The position of the seams changes with shoe size, which is why they may look a bit different.
-The 1981 catalog mentions Work’n Leisure, Roebucks, Tradewear, and Perma-Prest all in the same catalog. I believe Sears tags, labeling, and branding was all over the place at that time.

Same catalog, I noticed the “charcoal grey” on that time looks really green, maybe a rename of Tex-Green?

And… could it be possible that Dick Warlock chose those coveralls because he was also the model for them?

I hear all the time the controversy over H1 coverall colors (seems we have it narrowed down now), but H2 is always said to be “spruce green”, I think it’s actually “dark green”

Behind the scenes shot in the sun, still look really dark green:

Mask seems really yellow, so picture color probably pretty accurate

And some examples of spruce green- it tends to me a lighter, more blue color as opposed to forest, hunter, or dark green. I have a pair of Sears generic brand coveralls like this- much lighter/teal than my green Roebucks

You can’t trust the color in that picture, it’s a black and white still that a fan “colorized” so it’s all artistic interpretation.

Ah, good point. Just made me think of another question- why do the exit wounds on Myers back not have blood around them? A lot of people who add them to the coveralls add blood, but in H2 when he’s swinging the scalpel it looks like just holes and no blood? I’d think there’d be blood, maybe more than the front? Odd that they’d take time to add just holes but no blood
