H2O mask confusion.

so, i have been wondering about the H2O mask that are out there and what is correct, so i thought what better place to ask than here.
the first two pics are of my H2O masks or what i believe to be H2O masks. what i heard is that KNB made the first one and for what ever reason they changed it to the second one and i got this one from smith’s grove sanitarium with the neck extention. so i thought i was all set and of course the other one i see all the time (SSN & H3O make this version) and it keeps bothering me is the 3rd pic. this one i do not own but i think is sweet. is there a third mask, is this just someone’s concept of the H2O mask, was there three masks, do i have this all wrong? someone please clarify this for me, i’m confused.

I believe most of H20 was originally shot with the version in the first picture you posted. After filming was complete, they were not satisfied with the look of the mask so they hired Stan Winston to sculpt a completely different mask (the version in your 3rd pic). I believe the mask in the 3rd picture is an SSN V2 that comes from the movie mold… Just a more accurate version of the 2nd pic you posted.

The third mask pictured is mine, It is an SSN V2.0 which in many peoples opinion is one of the most screen accurate Winston style masks there is. If I remember correctly these were made from the Winston mold or molded from the screen mask one or the two.

Smithsgrove-casted from the Hero mask
SSN V2.0- casted from the Hero mold

There ya go, I knew it was one or the other. I thought the SSN was from the actual mold I just could not remember, hence it is as screen accurate as you can get. Thanks T-man!

I still wonder how does SSN acquire all these movie molds?

I heard it was Jamie Lee Curtis who screamed “that’s not Myers!”

No “indy” myers masks in existence currently comes directly from the movie mold. . . that mold is currently kept by the estate of stan winston fx. . .

ssn: recasted made for movie but not used winston h20 – likely a stunt mask
smithsgrove: recasted the hero mask (the main mask used for close ups)

Ya just hear so many different stories about this mask. Maybe Darren can chime in and give us the 411 on exactly what the deal is. Not saying your are right or wrong Alexander, but I have just heard different stories, and I was told it came from a movie mold. Maybe a stunt mold. I don’t know.

Sean got in touch with greg nicotero (the N of KNB: H5, H20), Brad Hardin (MMI: H6, H20). . . i wondered this at first but in my short run in this hobby, ive come to know quite a few people and converse regularlly. … Inclusing some of these guys, wayne toth and Alan howarth (i still saved his voice mail he left me. . yeah im a dork hehe   :open_mouth: )im assuming that sean being the game a while now. . . got some agreement from these guys to go ahead.

sean owns a 1 of 15 borederline screenused: h8, made for but not used h20 winston. . .

BUT remember. . the other ssn masks do not come from a movie mold. . but that doesnt take away from their awesomeness

be polite. kind and respectful. . .youll be surprized who you come to know

no i gotcha ron. . al info i personally present all dirives directly from the horses mouth. . i usually note if its speculative. . . hope this helps   :drinkers: :drinkers:

The H20 mask seems to change slightly all through out the film. The scene in the Kitchen the mask was CGI. go figure.

I dont see why they took the time and prob money to do the CGI(CRAP) mask
when all they had to do was stick the mask on someone and film a 1-2 sec scene
the cut it into the film
