Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great day. A update for you all, sent out the blank Damned 88 to the conversion artist so in most likely a month I’ll have a painted and haired Damned 88! On the topic of H4, if you saw my previous post I posted about the almost identical H4 coverall score. Well at the same time I found those, lord and behold I found the exact brand used in H4. These are again Vintage Big Mac Fisher Stripe/ Herringbone coveralls. These came in a color of blue and I know there’s a debate between the color but sometimes I see blue other times I see grey but who cares really. You can tell these are the real deal by the right pocket flap, compared to my almost identical coveralls I posted earlier. Hope you guys enjoy the shots, have a great week!
some people might hate me for this, but I think the h4 coveralls are the best in the franchise. idk, something about the subtle stripes fading through the heavy weathering creeps me out. I also think the mask is the creepiest in the franchise. Sure, h1/h2 and h40 masks look the coolest, but I actually find the pure white face and almost surprised expression to be pretty terrifying.
I completely agree. My favorite mask is obviously the H1, but my second favorite is easily the H4. I find it ironic that the H4 mask gets a lot of hate, yet it perfectly captures all the qualities of Myers that Loomis describes…emotionless, blank, empty, and devoid of any and all emotion, stark white, and pitch black eyes. It’s hands down the creepiest mask in the series in my opinion.
God finally people enjoy H4! Ofc, 1978 will always be a classic, let’s not forget that but H4 just has something special. It’s the only movie out of the entire franchise that perfectly captivates a night on Halloween and all the watchers can relate, “Hey that’s how halloween was for me when I was a kid”. Also how you pointed out, the H4 mask is by far one of the creepiest with the meshed out eyes and the stance of George P. Wilbur- it’s intimidating. I know people whine and moan over how the H4 mask didn’t look like it’s other two masks before, but I mean come on, logically, Michael went into some Halloween store and stole a mask that looked similar to the one he wore in 1978, of course it’s not going to look the same or something that looks nothing like it, it’s just a cheap latex mask he found thst suites him. Also, another reason why I hate it when people moan or whine about it is because H4 is legitimately the last mask that uses a lineage with the 75 Kirk, the rest after H4 are all just made in the studio without any lineage to the kirk. I say lineage to the 75 Kirk because there’s the main theory, which I support, of the H4 mask coming when they pulled the left over Tramers from H2 and touched up sone of the features (Nose, mouth, ears, etc.) It just still has that Kirk feeling to it. It also just really imagines how Michael was described- a blank emotionless face with only basic facial features, being nose, eyes, lips and that’s it. It’s such a great mask and such a great movie with great actors. Be ready to see a 1st pull Damned 88 finished in the next month or so!!!
H4 has a more realistic look with it’s mask, because they kept the sideburns, that adds character to me, and I can overlook some goofy areas, because in the right lighting and whatnot, it can be very strange to see, and almost everyone new forgets that it’s the lastmask that was a converted Kirk essentially, it even shows Myers stealing it off the shelf which you never see in the original, and since he was burned, he needs a new mask
God absolutely! I could sit here and write an essay on everything I love about H4, but the most important part to me is the absolutely perfect atmosphere. I’ve re watched it more than any other film in the series, and I feel like it captures the Halloween spirit more than nearly any other film, not just in the series, but in film history, the movie is almost magical to me. And yeah I honestly love George P. Wilbur’s stance in the movie, he seems just so inhuman, something about the mask, coveralls, and his performance all put together unsettles me in such a subtle way that no other incarnation has.
Yeah! Exactly, inhuman, if he’s not human, and how Loomis said, he’s purely and simply, evil and evil can be interpreted in many ways but I do think H4 has a special way of interpreting evil. It’s also just the fact that H4 was one of the first films in the franchise I watched as a kid so it always holds a special place in my heart.
Exactly man, it just makes logic sense for him to just steal some random mask that looked like the one he wore in 1978 10 years ago. I don’t particularly find the mask goofy as it just feels too creepy and just eerie. Hell even the opening shot of Halloween 4 with the withered houses and barns are eerie as well. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but if I saw a 6’2 male with a blank, creepy mask I would feel unsettled about it.
Had they taken out the Hockey guard, he still would look pretty terrifying to me, and the intro to H4 is something that has never been done again, I’d like to see those kinds of shots, but times have changed
