Apparently the closest match that I heard of is Century Drill & Tool 72276 Straight Claw Wood Handle Hammer, 16-Ounce, 13 inches. Might not be exact though.
That isn’t an H40 hammer. The H40 had some slight curve in the neck of the head. I had one but sold it along with much of my 2018 collection. It’s too old to determine the make of it but you can determine the size by James’ hand etc. 4K helps in the determinations. The H2 hammer’s head is similar to this one but the tapered neck is shorter. Also be careful as many hammers have the strike like this but the length and curve of the claw is the stickler. This one below is an H2 hammer. And the one below that is the H40 from 4K. The H40 is a very unique head and difficult to find.
I never said it was an H40 hammer I said it was accurate and it is. The one you posted is definitely not an H40 hammer like your claiming the claw is a dead give away as the claw on the hero one is very curved. Not sure what your seeing, if anything the Jim Dandy is closer than the one you posted.
You’ll need to be more thorough in your reading. The first is an H2. I added the same pics you did for H40 and that hammer is anything but. Stick to F13
Why are you talking about an H2 hammer it’s an H40 hammer thread? So it’s an irrelevant thing you brought into play. Yeah Ghostly I’m sure he wouldn’t mind saying if he knows I just simply posted a fairly cheap vintage hammer that was a very close match to the H40 one for the guy who started the thread and this guy is making sure to tell me it isn’t the right hammer when I never said it was, then proceeds into H2 hammers that makes a whole lot of sense…
Okay…”screen accurate”. What you posted wasn’t screen accurate to anything. The H2 was posted to compare what you called screen accurate. The head was close in shape but not size.
The claw might be more accurate to the H40 but since I sold mine I couldn’t be certain at first glance. Screen accurate means “accurate” not “close”. So since you thought it was “accurate” to who knows what…I chose to extrapolate the subject from your hammer to what the closest thing it could be but even at that it’s “screen accurate” to nothing.
The hammer I posted is absolutely accurate to the H40 hammer in a lot of ways and I’m sure most would agree by comparing photos. Is it identical? No it’s not and I never stated so. I tried helping with what the original poster asked and you had to come in and show your ass and try to be a prick for no reason like your ego depends on it.
