Does anybody know anyone that does full rehauls by stripping the paint and hair off and then starting from there? I was attempting to paint mine but failed horribly. I tried to add a few more coats of liquid latex in hopes to peel the mask but that didn’t work. I already stripped the hair and was going to replace it with mohair. Unless someone knows a really effective way to strip the mask? I’m not entirely sure how everyone is stripping these masks down to the mold.
Really nice rehaul artist here! YouTube video is of a persons mask that was done by the artist. And the artists Facebook is linked below. His name is Ryan
Try using a dremel or sandpaper and see if that helps with the paint. I had the same issues when I first tried re hauling mine and am still working on it. I like the weathered look it has, but at the same time I overdid it a lot as far as making a screen accurate mask goes.
Someone needs to do rehauls filling in all the cracks with raw latex to make a clean version. There were some made during production which im pretty sure is the mask seen in the evidence photos. I don’t think tots will release it.
That’s what my problem was! I seen somewhere that said if you add more layers of latex it will peel easier so I just started adding layers. Then I tried a hair dryer and dremel with no luck. It’s very frustrating! Trying to get all the splits and cuts in the mask a darker color is where things started going terribly wrong. I’m glad I’m not the only in this position. I feel a little better lol
If you get a stone tip Dremel and start on the back of the head, it will pull some latex paint up and wrap around. That in turn will take it off in huge chunks. Uploading a video to YouTube shortly.
The trick with the black is getting a super super super super thin brush and making sure there isn’t too much paint on it when you paint the cracks as it’s very easy to over do it and make it look silly like I see in a lot of H40 Masks.
It’s a very interesting mask to rehaul to say the least.
