Just thinking about this. I know I’ve brought up a topic about this awhile ago, but is there another H5 mask like the Don Shanks, or someone molding one similar in the future. The Payback and H30 are not accurate in my opinion, no offense. But off all the replicas out there, the H5 seems to have the least of them. the Five and Payback are the only ones i think. I’m really looking forward to seeing a nice H5 mask in the near future.
SSN makes the top notch H5.
I wish there were more artists doing H5 masks. I have the H30 and I like it a lot better than the Payback but the problem is that it looks accurate at some angles and not at others. The SSN is solid but i dont want to pay that much.
Evildsm summed it up in a nutshell. Because of the deteriorating quality of the few original masks in private ownership, another H5 replica the caliber of the SSN Signature Series H5 is practically impossible. Even if Don Shanks were to somebody ELSE mold his screen-used mask, the final product at its best would look essentially the same as SSN’s current offering…That’s not to say I wouldn’t buy it, though. I’m an H5 fiend.
Add to that the fact that the mold for the “face appliance” KNB made for the mask design no longer exists, and you’re left with the SSN Sig H5 being the ultimate possible culmination of all available (and only presentable, to my knowledge) screen-used resources on this particular Myers mask design left in the whole world, coupled with direct access to the original, production-used H5 mask mold. That’s saying quite a lot.
Do any of you guys remember how this picture made you feel when you first saw it? I do. I still feel a huge sense of urgency and excitement from looking at it:

Yep, the SSN is the best and only good one. I just remembered that Sean over at ssn told me they were going to remake the the h5, h6, and h20 masks. All being the same but without the sigs. They will all have a price drop as well. He said around 20-25 bucks. i have no idea when this is gonna take affect though. but im looking forward to it.

That sounds awesome. How long ago did he share this news?
I’d like to know for sure if he’s changing anything else about the masks other than the sig stamps, though. If he’s just taking those away and keeping everything else exactly the same, then I’ll be anxiously looking forward to it.

This was about a month ago. I was looking to buy the most accurate H6 mask. I had emailed SSN about the mask (not looking to buy it, but what hair and stuff was used) and sean emailed me back. He sent another one saying that the masks are no longer going to have the sigs on them. The masks will remain the same, just no sigs and a price drop. So im guessing around $275 for them. could be cheaper who knows, only time will tell.

I, too, have been waiting for the perfect H6 mask to come along… The Sig H6 is amazing, but the sculpted signature on the side of its neck really turned me off to it. sigh…Time to go screen-capping and comparing masks again.

Yeah the ssn H5 is the most accurate well ever see imo.Its a GORGEOUS mask.SSN is a great company,and my favorite mask making company.I want to pick up a george p.wilbur soon,hopefully by december.

He does, i used to have an LE. got rid of that though, had to get a bigger mask and this one seemed a little more accurate in y opinion. He does make some nice ass masks.

SSN hands down has the best H5. Having a revenge with the nose appliance would be killer, whoever owns one is a lucky man. Also whoever owns an original pull of the H5 with a nose appliance is also a lucky guy. 
Nothing beats a pull from the original mold… weather it be an h5 or h6 or h300.
Yep, that’s what i thought as well. He said a price drop of around $25. Some signature Who really knows for sure though, could be even more of a drop.

Well, to SSN’s defense it does cost 20 bucks for a signature at conventions. So 25 bucks to cover the signature and postage?
