Other than the true DP H3 witches owned by our senior members, I have seen others with a plain light green finish.
I have seen replicas with a plain dark green finish.
Were there other finishings besides the white one and the ones seen in H3??
Other than the true DP witches and the CGP ones, I have not seen a replica capture that beautiful air brushed look like the screen cap add below. Most of the replicas out there look plain. Why is that?
Kaizu-
awesome picture man…wow! how’d you find that??
about the airbrush thing…i dunno since i have never painted one, but it could be just what the artists sees when they paint them, just my guess though? maybe someone who paints them will see this and chime in, good luck bro
That’s a good question Kaizu. I have always preferred the CGP Witch replica myself due to the paintup. It would be interesting to know the reason (if there is one) for the difference in paintups.
Thanks guys!
When purchasing one in the future I don’t want to end up with a dark green color.
Then the question would be was there ever a dark green one??
I prefer the blend of light and dark green as seen in the film
Hollywood Morgan-I found it by accident. I remember seeing these back when I was a kid.
Benny-CGP ones look magnifico! Just wish I can purchase a brand new one that’s not yellow…
for $49.95 i would just go ahead and roll the dice bro, if you dont like the paint job just send it out to a good artist and have it done the way you want
ahhh to go back to the early 80’s…i miss the 80’s
I’ve only seen the flesh (pale yellow), gray/green, and H3 phosphorus green w/ yellow highlights finishing on the Hagatha.
SSN did the first run in a darker green, but I don’t know why.
CGP replicated the look pretty well, but it was inconsistent and most didn’t have the yellow highlights.
Rob Tharp does the best job on Hagatha paintups imo.
Here are some pics I took of mine a couple years ago… I need to do some new ones. But they show the true vintage tones and crisp detail in natural light.
The moles are green, but they have a hint of brown to them.
If that’s possible you’ll be the first I’ll contact
Don’t know about any H3 blanks but if I find a nice replica, a redo like yours would be great!
Thanks
Tharp does paint blanks for around $100-$150. But he doesn’t have any blanks just sitting around, you have to find them. He does great work obviously, but he is always busy so sometimes the wait is long.
If you guys know of where to get some good Hagatha 1st gen blanks, please point me in that direction.
Also, I can paint a Hag up to look very close to the one you have there Jon… And it would only take me about a week or so to get it done.
