This is apparently an audio recording, from 1978, of an audience’s reaction to the final scene(s) in Halloween (1978). It is unclear how authentic this is, but it is very interesting indeed. I enjoyed the hell out of it.
If thats legit, i just got mega chills watching that… Id give anything to see that in the theaters in 1978 back when movies were still magical and the world was not so densenatized
I can remember as a kid, that’s what it was like in the theater, people would cheer then they would scream. Awesome audio. I just have one thing to say about the audio though, I only hear 5 shots. I know for a fact there are 6 shots.
Yeah, I watched it here at work, and got the shiveries down my back. I think whoever synced the audio up to the video had to cut a few frames out to try and match it up best they could, that’s why that 6th gunshot is missing.
I saw Halloween in theater with 300 people last Halloween, and I’d say half the audience hadn’t seen it before. The reactions were STILL genuine, even though the fashions and dialogue were outdated, it is still an effective movie.
glad you all enjoyed it! Cheers!
That was very cool, I’m with uhall, I too remember when I was a kid the audience would get very vocal in the theaters back in the 70’s, so this has to be legit…Dean
That gave me chills… man I wish I had an experience like that in the theater with this film. I caught a showing one time at a Regal, and they didn’t play the audio loud enough. On top of that the audience was maybe 15 people, and they were completely bored to tears. It was fun, but still not what I was looking for.
