Nice work! I am really excited about this! I’ve always wanted a modern Halloween video game, but this level of depth is really going to make it something special!
Here’s my Tradewears you can scan into blender, this is honestly the best shot I ever took of them
That’s the idea! I want this to be really special and something Halloween fans will really appreciate. I don’t want this to be some rushed generic game. The goal is to make this something very personal to the 1978 film.
The 40th anniversary release includes the music as heard in the film. No need to manually extract it yourself.

UPDATE:
So I have an idea which I’m now heading towards. I want this to be really special and to be an experience like no other. I’ve decided to re-create the entire film front to back within the game. You will be able to watch this film made within the game, scene for scene just like in the original, except you’ll be able to watch it in VR. Being able to experience the film like you’ve never seen it before, and being able to be fully submersed into each scene with a 360 view of every little detail of every moment. Recreating the film in a 3D model will allow this to happen. Something that comes to mind is a recreation of the film made in a game called GTA:SA. This film was uploaded to YouTube by a user called Roswell1969 (link: https://youtu.be/8uRMYluanFc). He managed to create Halloween 1978 in the game, scene for scene. This is the idea, except in my game the difference will be every model, every character, every street, every house… everything, will be specifically made for the film and will replicate exactly everything as you see in the 1978 film whilst also being able to experience the scenes play out in real time within VR.
This game will have multiple modes;
FILM mode (the entire film front to back in VR).
FREE ROAM mode (A chance for you to walk the streets and enter the houses of Haddonfield directly from the maps and models used for the VR film. You can do this in VR too, with cool little easer eggs as you roam the streets like Myers standing behind the bush etc.).
GAME MODE (a mode which will allow you to play either Michael or any other main character. Playing as Michael you will be challenged to stalk and prey your victims without getting caught. Playing other characters you will need to avoid Michael at all costs, that means making sure windows are always closed, as you’ll notice they’ll start opening when you’re looking away… catch the drift?).
The film will be available to watch either on a standard monitor or in VR if you have the kit.
Hope this sounds cool enough. I can’t wait to keep you guys updated with the progress. As of yet, I’m now working on the interior design for the Myers house as mentioned previously. Here’s a little shot of an incomplete exterior and an incomplete interior of the Myers house as of right now.
The ambition for the full film recreated is insane. But it would be very cool, and you’re very confident, so good luck. Progress looks great so far.
Sounds like a great idea
You say you’re not using the soundtrack for the film, so what are you using for music then?
I am using the soundtrack from the film, I’m just not using the motion picture soundtrack which is the music that was was released on CD a year later in 1979. That’s what you’ll typically hear when searching for music relating to Halloween. I’ll be using the soundtrack that was used in the film in 1978. The soundtrack used in the film is only available in the film, so I’ll need to extract it from the film and remove external noises like characters voices etc.
