‘‘Hey,
I went odeon lastnight and watched Halloween 2, as a avid Halloween fan I had to see it.
And I hated every second of it.
Rob Zombie done quite well with the 2007 remake. But he really has taken the francise, beat it, raped it, stabbed it, dressed it as a girl, set fire to it, buried it…and generally killed it.
He has destroyed everything Halloween and michael myers is about. The beloved and poor Laurie Strode is no longer a innocent loving ‘geek’ she is now a drunken, rock metal loving crazy hippie. And the good old Dr Sam Loomis is now a heartless money hungy fame seeking arragont prick.
And myers is simply a hairy, 7ft pissed off hobo. I cant even say the mask is good since half of it is ripped off and most of the time he isnt even wearing one.
Most of the shots are bad and the characters are pointless.
The film is very surreal, with myers being followed and being spoken to by his dead mother and younger self. Thats right! exactly like Jason in Friday the 13th Myers is a mummys boy. Killing because his dead mother tells him too. (’‘Cuz you told me too’’)
But when compared to the new Firday the 13th Remake its on the same wave length. But Friday the 13th has better meaningful characters, and a better storyline/ plot. With that said Myers is more bigger, powerfull and aggressive than Jason was, and The gore in Halloween 2 is unlike anything Ive ever seen. Gore wise, Its the most realistic and graphic Gore Ive ever watched…even when compared to ‘Cannibal Halolcaust, Hostel, Texas chainsaw massacre, and even Saw.
This isnt a halloween film, this isnt a horror film, Its a Rob Zombie film…a fucked up gore fest.
If want to watch a film for a laugh or the ‘gross bits’ It’ll suffice. Otherwise…dont waste your time. Unless you want to watch a man called Rob Zombie shit on one of the greatest Horrors of all time for 90 mins.
Take it easy’’
Thanks for the frank, honest review.
I completely disagree, being a fan of Halloween for nearly 20 years, i rank his as one of the best in the franchise. A film not scared to break the boundaries of the familiar, tired, Halloween’s we’ve seen before it.
Thanks man.
But you’ve got a good point about seeing something totally fresh.
Hey dude, each to their own, we can’t all like everything. At least you watched it and gave it a chance.
Put perfectly. That’s WHY I like this movie. It wasn’t a rehashed “seen it before” rip-off.Totally new take on it.Loved it
Its my favourite after H1; H2 and H4. Also the best film Ive seen this year. Great film. good job for going to see it at least!
I totally LOVED H2!!

H1,awesome!,H2…"wtf im a watching?umm, im going home and watch H1 again"i soo wish RZ kept the hospital scene thru the whole movie
im with you daveberg. i find it strange that some of the reasons i hear for poeple not liking rz H2 are the exact reasons i do like it.
like you said, we all cant like the same things i guess.
I respect everyone’s opionion here and I do agree he should make it different than the older Halloween movies.
What bothers me about it is that he turned Michael Myers into a trailer thrash redneck. It seems everything Rob Zombie does as to involve foul language and white thrash.
For this offense, I will probably never be able to enjoy any of the RZ halloween movies. Its too bad cause I actually love the new powerful look of the grown Michael Myers.
That is only my opinion and I don’t want to offend fan of the movies at all. Everyone has different taste.
Cheers
