i will say that i despise this film but i will agree that it is no were nere the worst film in history

For those of you that DESPISE this movie so much, WHY?? Its a Halloween movie that gave us a serious and dangerous Michael Myers…

Because its no where near the standards of JC and the film itself tries to project itself as so. I think seeing as a stand-alone series and not including it with the originals, its not that bad. Another reason other people (not me) hate it is because they don’t even want a remake and the atmosphere all in all is nothing when compared to JC’s
but its NOT the original, its not supposed to be. I think its the most respectful of all of them after the first two. yet this one is more reviled than 4,5,6,7,8 which i find ridiculous. personally I loved that it was serious, didnt have a goofy myers or a silly looking mask.
i think one of the reasons alot of people hate the remake is because it was to different, now i like change but making michael grow up in a white trash family isn’t really something that was needed. with that one change changed the whole way michael was in the film. he was no longer the boogeyman he was now an angry adult who grew up in a bad family and thats why he killed. not trying to be a pain or make anyone change there mind that’s just what i think most people don’t like the film. and i will also agree with you that it did make michael dangerous and serious again, and thats one of the reasons why i wil occasionally watch it.
Yeah your actually kinda right. But they just made Myers too brutal I guess. I think that they at least tried with H20 and it wasn’t a huge POS like the others
Hes a serial killer!! lol hes not supposed to be friendly!! I do think H20 was a good effort. I like it, didnt care for the multiple mask nonsense in it, or the messing with of the score that was done for it though. But I like it. but while i love watching 4,5,6,8 they are horrible films.

Oh I’m sure there are plenty of horror films much worse than RZ’s H1. I can think of 50 or 60 myself. It was not really a bad movie…H2 now that’s another story.
Agreed, H2 was super dissapointing and while Michael may have been more brutal than ever, the rest of the film was ridiculous. I know beating a dead whore…i mean horse but still. The remake is way better than the sequel
I am really keeping out hope that the directors cut is much more fleshed out, I could feel the jumps in editing where ALOT more needed to be said and developed. Not saying it will make it better, but while I enjoyed this movie, it seemed to sadly take a turn for the worse when Michael returns to haddonfield which SHOULD have been the high point, but it all felt rushed…ill keep my fingers crossed.
