Very interesting, but I prefer the ending they actually went with. Not sure I like the sound of Michael sitting down “licking his wounds” so to speak. Although I will say I like that Laurie got stabbed in the chest, not because I don’t like Laurie, but because it would have been a good way to finally end the franchise in my opinion.
It’s cool reading what the original ending entailed, but I much prefer the new ending.
The original ending gives no closer to Laurie’s character and does not complete her character arc. The movie IS Laurie’s story, done and done so the triumphant ending with her and her family banding together to finally fight back at the trauma, is an extremely fitting and satisfying way to end the movie.
