I don’t know if I’ll ever really like this film. I try to watch it every year and when it’s over I just don’t feel like I’ve gained anything. Its got nothing to do with the absence of Myers either. It has some great elements, the atmosphere and brilliant ending, great masks and music. But it’s also got a lot of bad acting and lines that just feel silly. Also Challis and Ellie hooking up first chance they get is always off putting to me. No development to warrant the relationship.
I don’t know, I’ll keep trying, but I just haven’t gotten there yet. What do you guys think?
No relationship development needed when you are Tom Atkins [emoji3]

Haha maybe, though he did always strike me as a low budget Tom Selleck
not really a big fan of it either. i love the soundtrack though.
The first time I saw H3, I had no idea myers wasn’t in it and that it had nothing to do with the previous 2 movies, so I was like, wait what’s going on here? Where’s dr Loomis, Laurie, and Michael? So I kept watching, hoping they’d turn up eventually, of course they never did, at that point I thought, what am I even watching? Needless to say, it was really odd for me the first time I saw it, but honestly I’ve never really went back to it since then, even though I think on its own, it’s ok.
Great film, wish JC had made another couple of anthology films and then finished the series with his idea he had for the return of Michael.
6 films would of been the perfect amount for the series.

H2
H3 season of the witch
H4- Anthology
H5 Anthology
H666-Return of Michael Myers
I agree, the Michael Myers ground has been well and truly covered, Halloween was defiantly the classic case of lighting in a bottle, now Halloween Anthology movies are not the case. The world of the horror genre was not ready for Anthology movies, after the success of trick r treat, and PPL’s love for PPL’s fave holiday, this is the time to bring more Halloween Anthology films to life. I always say this, Halloween came well before Michael Myers, just got to hope TRick r treat 2 is released sooner rather than later
“Have a happy Halloween, Halloween, have a happy Halloween, from silver shamrock” always gets stuck in my head, always lol
And you watch the Halloween ‘Myers’ movies to “gain” something? The atmosphere in Halloween III alone blows away any Halloween movie after it.
I think H3 is great movie. Just wish it was simply called “Season of the Witch”
Halloween 3 has a feeling of dread as it doesn’t have a typical happy ending that is unsettling compared to standard films they tend to end on a happy note. H3 is good, 80’s Halloween nostalgia flair, I have to watch it each Halloween season.

Plainly put; Halloween III or G.T.F.O.
But really, it’s such a gem and, like Chakor, I actually enjoy (and especially watch) Halloween III more the original film. It oozes of the Halloween season with the score and the imagery. For the newcomers, and even the long-standing fans who just refuse to like it, they’re really losing out.
Agreed, you described my thoughts perfectly!
Halloween 3 is a pretty good movie. It’s not as great as some of Carpenter’s other works such as “Halloween” or “The Thing”, but it’s good in its own right. Most of the time, when I see people hating on it, it’s because it doesn’t have Michael, or in a related reason, because they don’t understand what Carpenter’s intent with the series, that the Halloween movies were originally meant to be an anthology, and not centered around Michael. I do agree that the movie probably would have been better received if it didn’t have Halloween in the title, but I find I rarely when people dislike the movie on its own merits rather than disliking it on principle.
