Halloween 3D officially has a Writer/Director!

So what do you guys think? Good or bad news?..

If he is in fact the new writer/director, I’d like to see My Bloody Valentine 3D to get a little bit of an opinion on his work.
When I think about it, I’m not so keen on the whole 3D concept. The Halloween series just doesn’t seem like the kind of series to have a 3D film. Sure it works with Friday the 13th Part 3, MBV, and The Final Destination, but those are just slasher flicks that lack depth, a story. In those type movies, the 3D concept is just a gimmick to hook an audience, the average movie-going crowd that sees a film just because it “looks cool” and it will be what everyone is talking about at school on Monday.
Would a 3D Halloween be a success? I think yes because the type of crowd I mentioned above will flock to see it which will result in good ticket sales.
So while a “Halloween 3D” would probably be a success in that aspect, I don’t think it would work very well because it would definitely take away from the story of the series and the story of the film. In other words, 3D effects in a Halloween film would be distracting.

After the atrocity H2 was…it’s good news because Rob isn’t directing!!

Seriously, I think it could turn out good. My personal favorite film of the Friday the 13th films was part 3, and we all know it was in 3-d.

I’m looking forward to it, just hope that there is good writing and it stays true to the older feel of the Halloween franchise.

i think it’ll b good, but would have most likely been better with rz. :axe:

The gimmick was decided upon first, not the story or direction of the character, not how to deal with the character’s death in H2…the 3D gimmick came first. What decent writer/director would attach themselves to this?

Could it be good?? As likely as me getting hit by lightning while winning the lottery…yes. :open_mouth: :unamused:

i honestly don’t care if its in 3-d or not because my theater doesn’t offer it in 3-d so im happy either way.
also i hope they find some creative way to bring michael back or just continue with the original series.
but who knows this could also be a remake of season of the witch

yeah that’s wat im thinking, season of the witch. hmm…but truth be known i want michael back instead of masks killing lil kids or pep. lol!

thats a gamble to say if myers will go back to the old series, be pretty neat if he did. but if they decide to pick up where left off in h2 that would be good to. i mean they can bring back myers from the dead or make up something like he never died in h2 but came close and the same for loomis. so the train really never ran off the track once you think about it.

o and who knows for sure that the new series isnt going to be great down the road, this could be the start!!!

plus remember, be greatful theres gonna be a new movie in the works cause right after the h3d there probably want be another one for years and years to come. ‘‘RATING THAT IS ON H3D’’ :unamused:
