Halloween 4,5,6....H20??

This is something that I’ve always wondered…Why, in Halloween H20, does Laurie never bring up her daughter?? I know that H20 was treated as a sequel to Halloween 2. They just forgot about Halloween’s 3-6 and brought this sequel into the picture. But why does she never mention Jamie in the film??

well because they TOTALLY DROPED the story from 4-6. its a direct sequal from Halloween 2 and mentioned in the movie that Michael has been non exsistance for the 20 years. So the Jamie ordeal is like totally droped of in H20

If it weren’t, it’d be an interesting idea for a continuation of the original series. When Jamie and Josh meet. But they’d have to drop H6, because didn’t Jamie die in H6? Josh is the only remaining Strode/Tate descendant, right? So they can’t do too much with the series. Just my input.

i always wondered the same thing, it is very weird that they did that, like vadar said, they do say he has been non existent for 20 years so it seems they just moved on, lol! then again i am soooooo glad they dropped the whole “curse” idea, i like it better when there is no reason for his mentality!

When you start giving a motive for things it becomes less scary. Thats why 78 Halloween was so scary you knew very little than Halloween 2 you got a little more into the story but 4-6 they tried to milk it. Dont get me wrong still all enjoyable but 1,2, H20 are great, Resurrection…lets leave it at that not one of the best ive seen honestly. The RZ are good too…Im kinda glad they TRIED to restart the series and point it in the right direction but things happen and you get remakes and Resurrection haha.

Nick

exactly man, i really love the films but i try not to think about the curse thing, i kind of blank it out!!! h1 and h2 where scary as hell for that reason and i feel they bought that feel back in h20! i also like resurrection unlike most lol! i like rzh1 also but not so sure on number 2!

Laurie doesn’t mentioned Jamie because H20 its a direct sequal from Halloween 2 (I.E. H3-6 never happened) therefore Jamie never really existed.

I will say…I loved the first two original movies ( still do )… tho I didnt think part 4 was bad at all…H20 was also enjoyable. Unfortunately I didnt care at all for any of the others…so the series for me ended with H20. I agree with other posters on the fact that back durring the original 2 movies…there was no explanation for Michael…why he did what he did…there was no reasoning or rational explanation…oh…yeah , and by the way…then throw in hes nearly indistructable. LOL. The unknown definately kept it very scary and creepy.

I liked it better that way. as much as halloween 4 and 5 put the real “halloween feeling” into my system (which I contribute to it playing over and over on AMC during the season) they just never “worked” in my opinion.

I HATE THE FACT THEY DROPED HALLOWEEN 4 5 AND 6 LOMMIS IN THOSE FILMS WAT A WAST OF TALENT JUST FORGOTEN ALL HIS HARD WORK WHY DONT THEY JUST GO AND DANCE ON THE POOR MANS GRAVE REALLY :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:

Laurie would have to be a real piece of work to abandon her daughter in Haddonfield, at the mercy of Michael. Wasn’t there an early draft of H20 that involved Laurie coping with guilt over her daughter being murdered back in Haddonfield? Or, am I imagining that?

I do have one issue with the idea that they TOTALLY dropped 4-6. Why would she need to fake her death, and why would Loomis still be alive? He clearly dies at the end of Halloween 2. Also, why would Loomis know that she faked her death? He’s obviously the first person to check for information about Laurie, and he just keeps it in his nurse’s house, ripe for the taking? None of that makes sense to me.

I see where you’re coming from on this one.

i am soooooo glad they dropped the whole “curse” idea, i like it better when there is no reason for his mentality![/quote]

AMEN

Well you know full well that they ignored Return through Curse in H20…so why would they mention her daughter? If the past three movies “don’t exist”, there is no daughter.

i hated that they skipped 4-6 especially since 4 was my favorite. i must be one of the few that liked part 8. that scene were he was walking behind busta rhymes was the funniest thing i have ever seen in a horror movie.

i’m with you, i also like part 8

Rick Rosenthal did i nice job directing H2 81’ and did a decent job with 8. What i didnt like was one the casting, i kind of felt they tried to replace Laurie Strode with the Sara Moyer character and all of the other cast members were ehh as well. The idea was alright but than again Michael living in the sewers underneath the house and everything is giving too much, we want to know these things so its best not to give it to us. Where has Michael been for the last 20 years…living underneath his abandoned house, i mean its alright im not a fan of it much. Busta Rhymes in a Halloween? LL Cool J was good! haha but once you get rappers and tv talk show hosts in this amazing franchise you think they try too hard.

YEAH!! That Buggs the hell outta me too!!! Poor Donald Pleasence!!! Just look at his face on Halloween: 25 Years of Terror when they are doing his make-up (with Pj Soles talking about how he died shortly after production of H6)!!! He looks so HAPPY

If you know where that H20 script can be found, send me a link. That would of been a lot better than just wiping out the hard work of Donald Pleasence! And would of been better for the film IMO. And I totally agree with you man.
