I’ve always said it should’ve been flipped. Kill Tina in the house, kept Rachel alive until the final act. Or just injured her, I don’t know. But killing her was such a blow to the film, IMO.
I like the pic of micheal holding the butcher knife looking at dr loomis.favorite look of the h5.and if an accurate mold and mask is made ill surely add one to my collection.also in agreeance that don shanks is an underated myers!ive been wanting an h5 for a very long time just waiting for that one that screams hero!ive seen many come close however lacking something.not sure I like that triangle thing in others around the nose.just want a good screen accurate h5!til then my collection awaits…
I think we have great options for mold accurate H5’s, but none of them catch my eye and say “HERO!” for several reasons, and here are some of them- wrong type of hair, wrong hairline, wrong eyecuts, wrong paint job, no “Shanks stretch”, thick pulls, and the nose appliance lines are too visible.
I realized most Halloween 5 replicas don’t seem to have the mouth slit, though it seems slit in the photographs. I don’t believe my SSN 5 had the mouth slit either? That may change the way it looks, as we know it transforms the Kirk.
It definitely has it’s problems. Rachel dying immediately. Jamie’s story from 4, ixnayed. Her having a telepathic connection with Michael. And of course… the crown gem, the man in black breaking him out of jail. All this being said, there are still things I like in this movie. Loomis, the brute mask, etc. I won’t skip it, I’ve seen it a lot and will continue to. Each film; no matter how good or bad, is part of the franchise which I love.
Haha, yes! The H5 was sculpted and produced by KNB but Akkad thought 2 things- that the mask looked too feminine, and that it looked tight to Don Shank’s form so it didn’t look enough like a mask.
To fix the masks feminine look, KNB sculpted a mouth/nose appliance and glued it overtop of the mask. The lines are just BARELY visible during the film, but more so in the BTS shots.
To fix the way it was tight to Don’s form, they glued makeup sponges around the bottom of the neck to help it flare out (seen in shots where Don is stalking).
Nope, most don’t have that either. Not only would the slit effect it like you said, but the stretch plays a major role in why we don’t see accurate H5s. No one cares to make great ones anymore, and no one cares to take great worn shots either haha.
It definitely has its faults, but it’s I don’t love it because it’s a stand alone film, I love it because it’s nostalgic and part of my favorite horror series
I just recently stumbled upon this AWESOME thread and I wanted to share a project that I have recently completed that is quite relevant and perfectly in line with the discussion within this H5 THREAD: a GROUND-UP H5 MYERS SCULPT that I spent countless hours, days and months on where I attempted to painstakingly represent ALL of the aspects so clearly brought up within this conversation here whether that be the eye cuts or neck flare and countless other aspects that make for the extremely unique ON SCREEN LOOK of the H5 mask.
I documented the ENTIRE sculpting process and released it this past Halloween on my Talk Show called Couch Hard as part of 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN.
